Heaven, Bible Views

The Bible has little to say about what Heaven is going to be like.
From the Old Testament:
Deuteronomy 26:15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
Psalm 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
The Lord Jesus speaks off Heaven
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
 Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Peter tells of new heavens
2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
John, in Revelation gives different views of Heaven
Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Revelation 7:16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

HAPPY  

Happy – feeling or showing pleasure or contentment

Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth:…
Psalm 127:5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed,
Psalm 128:2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Psalm 137:8-9 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Psalm 144:15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
Psalm 146:5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
Proverbs 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Proverbs 3:18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Proverbs 14:21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Proverbs 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
Proverbs 28:14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Romans 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Happiness is found in the Lord.

Israel Replaced

There is a teaching that the Church has replaced Israel.
That God is done with the Jew.
Let’s see what the Bible has to say:
God’s Promise to Abraham Genesis 17:7-8 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
Read Jeremiah 31:31-37 …I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:…
Read Romans 11:1-29
Starts with Vs 1-2 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
But he did set them aside: Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
After the resurrection, the Lord said Acts 1:6-7 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Remember how the Paul explains it: Romans 11:17-24

Yes, the Nation Israel has been set aside But the Jew can be saved just as the Gentile by believing the Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-13.
BUT once the Rapture happens, the age of Grace ends.

IMPOSSIBLE

Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
Luke 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Sunday Sabbath

Sunday is not the Sabbath!
The Sabbath falls on the seventh day of the week – Saturday.
But what about the words of the Lord Jesus?
To Whom was HE speaking to? – JEWS
But what about the Ten Commandments: Exodus 20:3-17?
Let’s compare them to what the Lord had Paul write to the Church.

  1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
    1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
  2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. …
    Paul has much to write about idols, look at 1 Corinthians 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
  3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.Philippians 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
  4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
  5. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
  6. Thou shalt not kill.
  7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
  8. Thou shalt not steal.
  9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
  10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

The Apostle Paul covers 6,7,8,9,10 in one verse:
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
The Apostle Paul NEVER mentions the Sabbath but does say: 1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Sunday is not the Sabbath!

Scripture 3

Without the Bible, the Holy Scripture, we have nothing to base our beliefs on. The Bible is God’s word about man and his relationship to God.
Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
The Lord Jesus told how important Scripture is:
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
 Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
 Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
Study the Word
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Reason to Study
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Doctrine a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a Church, political party, or other group.
Reproof an expression of blame or disapproval.
Correction the action or process of correcting something, used to introduce an amended version of something one has just said.
Instruction detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled.
Righteousness the quality of being morally right or justifiable.
2 Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Perfect having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.
Furnished to supply with what is useful or necessary, to fit out, provide, equip.
And to conclude:
1 Corinthians 2:12-16 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Under the Law (2)

At the time of Christ the Torah listed 613 Laws the Jews were under. Most of these Laws can be found in Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus. This does not mean that the law is a curse, but that the law has a curse, and that curse is eternal death. Today, Jew and Gentle can come out from UNTER THE LAW.
The Apostle Paul explains how:
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Romans 6:14-15 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
1 Corinthians 9:20-21 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the lawto Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Galatians 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Galatians 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Jew or Gentile, we are not under the Law when we obey
Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Sabbath

What is the Sabbath and when should it be observed?
Sabbath refers to a day set aside for rest and worship, traditionally observed on the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday for Jews and Sunday for many Christians. The Sabbath begins Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at sundown.
When did it begin? Read Exodus 16:15-26
God Included it as a command, (4th) in the Ten Commandments:
Exodus 20:9-11 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The word Sunday is not mentioned in Scripture BUT the 1st day of the week is, and it always follows the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week.
After the resurrection, Believing Jews honored the Sabbath (Acts 2:46) and then met on the first day of the week to fellowship. The first day, Sunday was for the Church:
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Paul instructs the Corinthians — 1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Paul instructs the Colossians — Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Should the Church meet on the Sabbath, which is Saturday or should it meet on the First day of the week? Are you under the Law?
The apostle Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, Romans 11:13, 1 Timothy 2:7, and 2 Timothy 1:11, teaches who is under the Law.

Two Thieves

Who were they? Were they Jews? Or Gentiles? Or one of each? Who were they? The only account of them is recorded in the Four Gospels.
There they are called: two thieves, two malefactors, two other.
Which one got to go to Paradise?
Matthew 27:38-44 Then were there two thievescrucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. …..
The thievesalso, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
Matthew records one on the right hand and one on the left hand and both mocked Him.
Mark 15:27-32 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, Save thyself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
Mark records one on the right and one on the left, then reminds us Isaiah predicted this in Isaiah 53:9-12. He also says they railed on Him.
Luke 23:32,39-43 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death….And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luke refers to them as malefactors. Only one railed on Christ. The rebuked the first and asked Christ to remember him when He comes into His kingdom.
(He acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah).
John 19:18,32 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst., … Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
John only records that there were two, with Jesus between them. That their Legs had to be broken (Killing them) but the Lord had already given up the ghost.
It appears at least one of them was a Jew, He acknowledged Jesus was the Messiah, and was rewarded by going to Paradise that very day.

Psalm 23

This passage has been a comfort to many believers over the years, but will be fulfilled for the Jew during the 7 years of tribulation (yet to come).

23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
