The Ark of Safety Part 2

The ARK was the ONLY refuge
Genesis 6:17-18 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Jesus said to the Jew:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The warnings apply to all:
Proverbs 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man,but the end thereof are the ways of death.
The ARK was an absolute safe refuge
Genesis 7:10-16 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; they, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
John 3:15 that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
John 10:28-29 and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

The Ark of Safety Part 3

ALL who entered the ARK were saved
Genesis 8:15-20 And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee. Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him: every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
ALL who remained outside the ARK perished
Genesis 7:21-23 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: all in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Then came a time when it was too late to enter
Genesis 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Luke 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Proverbs 1:24-28 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; but ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; when your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

To Summarize:
19:1 Two angels visit Lot
19:12 Tell him to Gather his family, sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you?
19:14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters.
But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
19:15 Angels grab their hands and lead them out of city.
19:29 God destroyed the cities of the plain, Sodom and Gomorrah.
19:30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, … He and his two daughters lived in a cave
Lot had Son’s, Son-In-Laws and Daughters! But only two survived.
19:36 The daughters get their father drunk and commit sin with him and bear sons.

It would appear that Lot had more than two daughters.
Perhaps Sons, Daughters-in-law, Daughters and Sons-in -law who did not have faith and did not believe him and they perished in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

Days of Noah

Many wonder: Just how bad can it get!

The Lord Jesus warned how it will get before he returns and he compares it to the days of Noah.
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The approximately 1600 years from Adam to Noah are recorded in Genesis 4-5.
The Lord Jesus continues:
Matthew 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
The Lord Jesus didn’t talk about all the wickedness, just commented that none seemed worried that the end was soon coming, just like today. But Genesis reveals just how bad it was.
Genesis 6:5-6 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Has the world reached this point today? “every imagination of the thoughts…only evil continually”!
Genesis 6:11-12 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Yes, man had become wicked, evil, corrupt, so indescribable that God had to destroy all flesh. But man thought all was okay and continued in his evil ways.

Matthew 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

This is the way it will be when the Lord Jesus returns to set up his kingdom. (Review The Future)
The question is “How Long, O Lord, How long?”

Plagues on Egypt

The children of Israel had dwelt in the Land of Egypt for 430 years (Exodus 12:40-41) before Pharaoh let them leave. But not until the Lord sent 10 Plagues upon them.

Exodus 5:1-2 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.

The Passover Sacrifice
On the first day of the month of Nissan, two weeks before the Exodus from Egypt, God said to Moses and Aaron: “This month shall be to you the head of the months; to you it shall be the first of the months of the year. Speak to the entire community of Israel, saying (Exodus 12:2-31), On the tenth of this month, let each one take a lamb for each parental home, a lamb for each household.
On the tenth of this month, let each one take a lamb… a lamb for each household… . a lamb for a household . . . And you shall keep it for inspection until the fourteenth day of this month… And this is how you shall eat it: your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste it is a Passover sacrifice to the Lord… And I will see the blood and skip over you, and there will be no plague to destroy [you] when I smite the [people of the] land of Egypt. And this day shall be for you as a memorial, and you shall celebrate it as a festival for the Lord; throughout your generations, you shall celebrate it as an everlasting statute. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the preceding day you shall clear away all leaven from your houses… And it will come to pass if your children say to you, “What is this service to you? You shall say, It is a Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for He passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians, and He saved our houses!”
Moses told all this to the children of Israel. It required a great deal of faith and courage for the children of Israel to carry out this Command, for the lamb was a sacred animal to the ancient Egyptians. But the children of Israel eagerly and fearlessly carried out all that God had ordered.

Plague 10 – The killing of firstborn children

Exodus 11:4-5 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

The tenth plague began at Midnight of the fourteenth to the fifteenth of Nissan. God struck all first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of King Pharaoh, down to the first-born of a captive in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the cattle, exactly as Moses had warned. There was a loud and bitter wail in each house a loved one lay fatally stricken. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron during that very night, and said to them:
Exodus 12:31-32 Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.
At last, then, the pride of the stubborn king was broken. The Hebrews were protected if the obeyed the instructions of Moses.
Exodus 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

Meanwhile the Hebrews had been preparing for their hasty departure. They had assembled in groups to eat the Sacrificial Lamb before midnight, arrayed as they had been commanded. The women had taken from the ovens the unleavened cakes, which were eaten with the meat of the roasted lamb. The preparations were at last concluded, and all was ready. At the word of command, the whole nation of the Hebrews poured forth into the cool, still Eastern morning. But not even amidst their trepidation and danger did they forget the pledge given by their ancestors to Joseph, and they carried his remains, with them, to inter them later in the Promised Land.
Exodus 11-12 records the complete account.

Plague 9 – Darkness

Exodus 10:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

The ninth plague was darkness over all the land of Egypt. For three days all of Egypt was enveloped in a thick and impenetrable veil of darkness which extinguished all lights kindled. The Egyptians were gripped with fear, and remained glued to their places wherever they stood or sat. Only in Goshen, where the Hebrew children dwelt, all had light in their dwellings. Again Pharaoh tried to bargain with Moses and Aaron, bidding them depart with all their people, leaving their flocks and herds behind as a pledge. Moses and Aaron informed him, however, that they would accept nothing less than complete freedom for the men, women, and children, and that they were to take all their belongings with them. Now Pharaoh became angry and ordered Moses and Aaron to leave and never to return. He warned them that if they were to come before him again they would die. Moses replied that it would not be necessary for them to see Pharaoh, for God would send one more plague over Egypt, after which Pharaoh would give his unconditional permission for the children of Israel to leave Egypt.
Exodus 10:21-29 records the complete account.
