Gospel According to Apostles

The Gospel of the Kingdom | Impact Ministries
The best way to know what the Gospel is, is to see what the Bible has to say about the Gospel. The Gospel the Lord gave to the 12 apostles:

Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Peter (and the apostles) preached same gospel as the Lord Jesus.

  • Acts 8:25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
  • 1 Peter 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
  • 1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
  • 1 Peter 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
  • 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
  • And during the Tribulation, the same gospel will be preached:
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Gospel According to Paul

Grace Church: Roanoke, VA > Sermons
The best way to know what the Gospel is, is to see what the Bible has to say about the Gospel. Paul preached the Gospel of Grace and the others preached the Gospel of the Kingdom.

This caused a problem: Acts 15 and Galatians 2. The solution was 2:9that we (Paul, Barnabas) should go unto the heathen (Gentiles), and they (apostles) unto the circumcision (Jews). see Acts 13:46

Some verses in Acts 14:7,21, 15:7, 16:10, 20:24 about the Gospel preached:
Paul reminds the believers in Rome about the Gospel he brought to them:
Romans 1:1,9,15-16, 2:16, 10:15-16, 11:28, 15:16,19-20,29, 16:25
And to the Corinthian believers:
1 Corinthians 1:17, 4:15, 9:12,14,16-18,23, 15:1
2 Corinthians 2:12, 4:3-4, 8:13, 9:13, 10:14,16, 11:4,7

To the Galatians, who were being led back under the Law, he tells them only one Gospel:
Galatians 1:6-9,11, 2:2,5,7,14, 3:8, 4:13
To the faithful Ephesians he wrote:
Ephesians 1:13, 3:6, 6:15,19
To the saints in Philippi:
Philippians 1:5,7,12,17,22, 2:22, 4:3,15
To the faithful brethren in Colossi:
Colossians 1:5,23
To the Thessalonians, who thought they had missed the rapture:
1 Thessalonians 1:5, 2:2,4,8-9, 3:2, 2 Thessalonians 1:8, 2:14
And to his son, in the Lord:
1 Timothy 1:11, 2 Timothy 1:8,10, 2:8
To his friend:
Philemon 1:13
To Jewish believers:
Hebrews 4:2
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: …
The Gospel of GRACE, is the Death, Burial, and Resurrection according to the Scripture of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

SAVED ⇛ Romans 10:9-13

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Psalm 119:6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
Psalm 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Psalm 119:80 Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.

Parable of Lost Fellowship

There was a man, who because of a famine in the land, had to leave his family and go to a far off country. There he found work, but he was sad and lonely. For even though he loved and served the Lord, those with whom he worked were seekers of pleasure and not seekers of God. At first they were friendly and invited the man to join with them in their gaiety but as he refused, for it would dishonor the Lord, the invitations came less and less.

One day he discovered a group of people who loved and served the same Lord he did. His heart was filled with gladness. They joined together 3 times a week for fellowship and worship of the Lord. As he attended these meetings, the hand of fellowship was offered, he was made to feel welcome, his soul was refreshed, but sadness and loneliness soon vexed his soul again. Because for as friendly as the group were at each meeting, the friendliness stopped there.

The man was never invited to partake of fellowship after the meetings. So as long as the man stayed in the far off country, he was sad and lonely.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

LIFE ⇛ 1 Corinthians 3:11-15

11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: …
Psalm 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Romans 14:10-14 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
1 Corinthians 2:13-16 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Christopher Dorner: Inside look at burned-out cabin where fugitive ...

14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Romans 1:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Psalms 62:12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Gospel of… Part 2

But what about the Gospel of the Kingdom (on earth)? It will begin again for Israel after the Rapture, during the Tribulation Matthew 24:14. But for this age, it’s the GOSPEL OF CHRIST. Not what He taught BUT what He did!
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Death, Burial, Resurrection and Coming Again).

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2 Corinthians 9:13 Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;
2 Corinthians 10:14 For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ:
Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Gospel of the Kingdom or Gospel of Grace …
is there a difference?

Image result for Gospel of the Kingdom or Gospel of Grace

Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Matthew 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Image result for gospel of the kingdom

Gospel (Good News) of the Kingdom is the good news that the Kingdom (of Israel) was to be established with the Messiah ruling from David’s throne in Jerusalem. It would happen when the Jew (Nation of Israel) accepted the Lord Jesus as their Messiah.
This began when Peter made his declaration of who Jesus was.
Matthew 16:15-17 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

It slowed down with the crucifixion of Jesus, but rebounded when he rose from the dead. The Gospel of the Kingdom was presented to Israel during the first 8 chapter of Acts with the Apostles urging Israel to REPENT, be BAPTISED, believe on the NAME of JESUS.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

But the Nation rejected their messiah (However, Many individuals were saved and added to the church).
Saul got saved, became Paul and tried to reach the Jew but was rejected and so he turned to the Gentiles and the Church was established opening up the Gospel of Grace for both JEW and GENTILE to be saved as they Believed in the death, Burial and resurrection (1 Corinithians 15:1-4).
