Rewards are for Service; Salvation is a gift from God.
There is a difference between Gift and Reward.
Gift: given free …. Reward: given for something done/accomplished.
What did the Lord Jesus teach about Rewards.
Sermon on the Mount…Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you., (Luke 6:23)
Matthew 6:1-5 Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven…,
Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great,…
Matthew 6:16-18 When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. …
Matthew 10:41-42 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward,
Mark 9:41 Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.
