God has provided the blood of atonement for today.
Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isaiah 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
IN THE PROLOGUE TO ISAIAH 53 (ISAIAH 52:12-15) THE AUTHOR IDENTIFIES THE “HE” OF THESE PASSAGES.
He is described as God’s servant who will be exalted. In other parts of his work, Isaiah equates this servant of God with Messiah.
Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
God’s provision for the blood of atonement through the Messiah follows the same principles God set up in the sacrifice system.
*SIN OFFERING: atonement for a man by means of a sacrifice
*PESACH: atonement for a family by means of a sacrifice.
*YOM KIPPUR: atonement for a nation by means of a sacrifice.
*MESSIAH: atonement for all by means of a sacrifice.
As we have seen, under the sacrifice system personal faith was necessary along with the blood of atonement. So faith is necessary with the sacrifice of Messiah. He should be the object of our faith today.
BUT HOW CAN WE KNOW WHO MESSIAH IS?
God made sure we could recognize Messiah by certain specific identifying marks. These marks are described by the prophets of Israel.
*His ancestry was from the family of David. Jeremiah 23:5-6
*The city of his birth was Bethlehem. Micah 5:1
*He had a supernatural nature. Jeremiah 23:5-6, Micah 5:1, Isaiah 9:5-6
*The manner of his execution was crucifixion. Psalm 22:14-17
*He rose from the dead. Psalm 16:10, Isaiah 53:10
*The time of his coming was before the destruction of Herod’s Temple in
70 AD Daniel 9:26
Do you have any idea if anyone has fulfilled these prophecies, or even come close? History tells us that Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled these and many other prophecies.
There are at least 48 specific prophecies concerning the Messiah which Jesus fulfilled.
The probability that one person could fulfill all 48 prophecies is 1 out of 10 with 157 zeros after it. During His lifetime many people called him Messiah (Christ is the Greek translation) and believed in Him.
Matthew 16:16, John 1:45-51, Acts 6:7
Many people since that time, both Jews and Gentiles, have had their sins forgiven and have gained a personal relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through Messiah Jesus. Through Him one becomes a completed person: a Jewish person becomes a completed Jew .
Since the blood of atonement has been provided through Messiah Jesus, there is only one more thing left for you to do.

For Jews Part 5

You must by faith receive Messiah Jesus into your life in order to have a personal relationship with God and a satisfying worthwhile life.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Receiving Messiah Jesus involve a moral decision to turn to God’s way and from your own, to trust Messiah Jesus to forgive your sins and bring you into a right relationship with God.
You receive Messiah Jesus by faith (trusting what he has done for you), he comes into your life and gives you the power to live a satisfying, worthwhile life.
Jesus says Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Some people think that receiving Messiah Jesus by faith means you’re no longer Jewish.
THAT’S NOT TRUE. AS JESUS PUT IT;
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
The apostle Paul felt the same way:
Acts 28:20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
Don’t let anything hold you back …
why not invite Messiah Jesus to give you a right relationship with God right now?
REMEMBER
*God is the source of a worthwhile life.
*Your sin has separated you from God.
*God’s provision through Messiah Jesus is the solution to the sin barrier.
*The only thing God asks you to do is to trust Messiah Jesus to forgive your sins and give you a right relationship with God.
MESSIAH JESUS ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES
Did you receive Him by Faith? Do you know what that Means?
It means hat the following promises are now true in your life:
*Messiah Jesus came into your life, and He’s there permanently.
Hebrews 13:5, Revelation 3:20
*All your sins are forgiven. Colossians 2:13
*You have a brand new relationship with God-you’re His child! John 1:12
“You’ve become a completely new person inside, and you’ve got a great new life! 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 5:11-13
*You’ve been set free from yourself to help others.
John 8:31-35, Galatians 5:13
SO, NOW WHAT?
Continue to trust Messiah Jesus
The way you began is the way to keep going. Colossians 2:6, Hebrews 11:6
If you keep trusting him, you’ll grow in your new relationship.
Here are a few suggestions:
*Let him communicate to you, read his words. 1 Peter 2:2
*Talk to him about everything. Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7
*Get together with others who have received him. Hebrews 10:24-25
*Tell other people about him. Acts 1:8. Remember to be tactful and kind.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

A look at repentance …
There is a lot taught about repentance … “I’m Sorry”
SORRY, about what? What you did? Or That you got Caught?
Paul says there is a difference …
2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
What is true repentance …

True Repentance is Deciding to change … THEN doing it!
Repentance involves more than being sorry … it involves restitution.
The son repented an restored his father’s faith
The lost son repented and was willing to work as a slave
Restoration … the act of paying back or making right.

What does the LAW say …
Exodus 22:1-4 Restitution for theft
Leviticus 6:2-5 Restitution for Deceit, Lying, Perjury, Robbery
Leviticus 24:14-22 Restitution for death of man or beast
Who is to be restored?
Numbers 5:6-7 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any man or woman who wrongs another in any way[a] and so is unfaithful to the LORD is guilty and must confess the sin they have committed. They must make full restitution for the wrong they have done, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged.

Repentance, Restitution without it there is no joy in salvation.

David the example … Psalm 51:12-13 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.

RESTITUTION begins with Prayer and Ends with all parties restored.

SAMUEL Called by God

God Called Samuel – to do His work.
WHY? 1 Samuel 2:26 And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.

Ever wonder why God hasn’t called you? Could it be:

Lack of dedication.
We all want to serve … IF it doesn’t interfere with other plans.
Church attendance … IF nothing else comes up.
Not sure how to serve … Service opportunities:
Teach Sunday School, Sing in choir, Usher, Door greeters, Nursery Worker, Bus Driver, Church Cleaning, Decorating, Visitation, Soul winning …

Habitually late for appointments.
5-10 minutes … never on time … you are cheating others.

Don’t keep your word.
Promise to do something … and don’t
Promise to be somewhere … Don’t show up (or arrive very late).

When you fulfill 1 Samuel 2:26, you’ll be hearing from God.

The Apostle John quotes the Lord:
Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
The Apostle John reminds those going thru Tribulation:
Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
The Lord Jesus Created it ALL and is GOD

Wine – Did Jesus Drink?

Note: The first four books all refereed to the Holy Bible, and presented alcohol and drinking in a ‘glorious and fun’ way. The Holy Bible is not so generous.

This message will mainly address the topic of Wine, in particular,
Did Jesus drink Wine?
Many who drink today defend their drinking by saying Jesus drank!
This message will NOT be addressing the following:
a. Statistics of work, money time and lives wasted because of drinking.
b. The destroyed homes, defiled innocence, misery and poverty brought about by those under the influence of too much drink.
c. Also will not go into detail about the –
-youth who shot his father after drinking 17-20 beers
-father who knifed his wife and 3 year old son after a week of drinking
-drunken husband who doused his sleeping wife with a beer glass full of gasoline and then lit her on fire
-5 month old child who died of neglect and exposure and laid dead in his own crib for 5 days while his drunken parents argued who should call the doctor
-all night teen drinking party that ended in a deadly game of Russian roulette
-drunken father who killed his 3 week old baby with a red hot poker, by inserting it in all the natural body openings
-or any of the other hundreds of gory stories that appear in our daily newspapers every year because of drinking
d. NOR will it review any of the senseless deaths that occur on the highways (daily) because of the “I can drive better when I’m drunk” attitude.
NO, what this will attempt to do is dispel (usually by Christians) the justification of drinking, BECAUSE Jesus drank wine.

DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN THE BIRTH OF THE LORD JESUS WAS …
How the Angels announced His birth.
How the shepherds came to the stable.
How the Magi came to the house years later.
DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN THE LORD WAS 12 EARS OLD …
How he disappeared from his parents.
How they found him in the Temple.
The look on their faces when he said “I must be about my Father’s business”.
DO YOU REMEMBER HOW THE LORD BEGAN HIS MINISTRY …
How he came to John the Baptist.
How he looked as the Holy Spirit descended upon him.
How he looked when he returned from the wilderness.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST YEAR …
The way he chose the twelve.
The miracles he performed and the healings.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE SECOND YEAR …
How the people flock around just to touch him.
To hear him teach with authority.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE THIRD YEAR …
How the people started to turn away.
How they commented “His teachings were too hard”.
The raising of Lazarus … The entrance into Jerusalem.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE LAST SUPPER …
How solemn the occasion was … How he taught eternal truths.
The Comforting thoughts about going to Heaven.
The washing of the disciples’ feet, and Peter’s comments.
DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN THE GARDEN …
The agonizing prayers he offered … sweat as unto blood.
The Guards coming to arrest him … the angry crowd.
The kiss from JUDAS. Peter cut off the Guards ear.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE TRIALS HE FACED …
How he spoke not a word.
How he faced the high priest, Pilate, even King Herod.
DO YOU REMEMBER PILATE TRYING TO FREE HIM …
“I find no fault with this man”.
How he tried to offer Barabas, instead of the Lord.
How the crowd cried “Away with him, Crucify Him”.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE CROWN OF THORNS …
The Humiliation, the spiting, slapping, hitting, beatings, pulling hair from beard.
The purple robe, the mockery, the reed and the cries, “Hail king of the Jews”.
How they tried to make him carry his cross. How Simon was compelled.
DO YOU REMEMBER GOLGOTHA …
The cross on the ground, the thud, thud, thud as nails were driven into hands and feet.
The agony on his face as the cross was lifted and then the hollow, empty THUD
as the cross dropped into the hole.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE ANGERY MOB …
How they slandered, they cursed, they railed against him.
“If thou be the son of God, come down from the Cross”. “He saved others, himself he cannot save”.
“If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and w will believe him”.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE TWO malefactors …
How they also mocked him. One said “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us”
The other said “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom”.
The Lord said” … today shalt thou be with me in paradise”.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE WORDS FROM THE CROSS …
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”.
“Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit”.
Remember. Remember … WAIT a minute …

Be Not Deceived Part 2

James, Peter, John and Jude warn Jewish believers:

James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
2 Peter 3:1-5 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Jude 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
And John continues to write about the deceiver during the 1000 years of the Lord Jesus rule on Earth:
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Revelation 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
