At the time of Christ the Torah listed 613 Laws the Jews were under. Most of these Laws can be found in Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus. This does not mean that the law is a curse, but that the law has a curse, and that curse is eternal death. Today, Jew and Gentle can come out from UNTER THE LAW. The Apostle Paul explains how: Romans 3:19Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Romans 6:14-15For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 1 Corinthians 9:20-21 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the lawto Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Galatians 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Galatians 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Jew or Gentile, we are not under the Law when we obey Romans 10:9-13That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
What is the Sabbath and when should it be observed? Sabbath refers to a day set aside for rest and worship, traditionally observed on the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday for Jews and Sunday for many Christians. The Sabbath begins Friday at sundown and ends Saturday at sundown. When did it begin? Read Exodus 16:15-26 God Included it as a command, (4th) in the Ten Commandments: Exodus 20:9-11Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. The word Sunday is not mentioned in Scripture BUT the 1st day of the week is, and it always follows the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week. After the resurrection, Believing Jews honored the Sabbath (Acts 2:46) and then met on the first day of the week to fellowship. The first day, Sunday was for the Church: Acts 20:7And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. Paul instructs the Corinthians — 1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. Paul instructs the Colossians — Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Should the Church meet on the Sabbath, which is Saturday or should it meet on the First day of the week? Honor the Sabbath! And obey all the rest of the Law!
Who were they? Were they Jews? Or Gentiles? Or one of each? Who were they? The only account of them is recorded in the Four Gospels. There they are called: two thieves, two malefactors, two other. Which one got to go to Paradise? Matthew 27:38-44 Then were there two thievescrucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. ….. The thievesalso, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. Matthew records one on the right hand and one on the left hand and both mocked Him. Mark 15:27-32 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, Save thyself, and come down from the cross. Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. Mark records one on the right and one on the left, then reminds us Isaiah predicted this in Isaiah 53:9-12. He also says they railed on Him. Luke 23:32,39-43And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death….And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luke refers to them as malefactors. Only one railed on Christ. The rebuked the first and asked Christ to remember him when He comes into His kingdom. (He acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah). John 19:18,32 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst., … Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. John only records that there were two, with Jesus between them. That their Legs had to be broken (Killing them) but the Lord had already given up the ghost. It appears at least one of them was a Jew, He acknowledged Jesus was the Messiah, and was rewarded by going to Paradise that very day.
This passage has been a comfort to many believers over the years, but will be fulfilled for the Jew during the 7 years of tribulation (yet to come).
23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Philippians 4:19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Jews, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, are God’s chosen people. But when they rejected Jesus as their Messiah, God set them aside. Isaiah tried to warn them: Isaiah 32:11-14Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine. Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city: Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; Isaiah warned, God opened the door to the Gentiles. Isaiah 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. Paul writes that now the blessings are to Jew and Gentile. Romans 4:9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. But, he writes, God has not cast away the Jew. Romans 11:1-2 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying, (read Isaiah 49). The Jew rejected Christ and this opened the door to Gentiles. Romans 11:11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. The Blessings come to all who would, in faith, believe in the Lord Jesus. Galatians 3:14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Paul tells Jew and Gentile what it takes to be saved: Romans 10:9-13That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. No, God is not done with the Jews, as Paul writes: Romans 11:25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. After the Rapture occurs, God will again begin dealing with His chosen people, the Jew. Read 2 Thessalonians 2

This was quoted by Christ in Matthew 21:16 3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4-6 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: This was quoted by Paul in Hebrews 2:6-8 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. The Lord Jesus created everything. Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:16 9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Every knee shall bow to the Lord Jesus. Romans 14:11
The Lord Jesus instructs the Jews about Life after Death. Recorded by Matthew: Matthew 8:10-12When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 22:29-32 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Luke 20:34-38And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
In the Old Testament there are many names for God. (Some say there are over 70 names, each having to do with God’s relationship to Israel). But just looking at some names we use in the Church today:
The name ‘Jesus‘ comes from Hebrew origins Yeshua or Yeshua.
Christ the Greek translation of the Hebrew word rendered “Messiah” which is equivalent to the Hebrew word translated “Anointed One.”
Messiah comes from the Hebrew word mashiach and means “anointed one” or “chosen one.” The Greek equivalent is the word Christos or, in English, Christ.
Emmanuel means “God with us” In the Old Testament it occurs only in Isaiah 7:14 and 8:8 Sometimes translated Immanuel.
Joshua comes from the Hebrew name “Yehoshua,” meaning “God is deliverance.”
Yeshua (transliterated in the English Old Testament as Jeshua), is a late form of the Biblical Hebrew name Yehoshua (Joshua),
Yehoshua is derived from yeho (meaning God) and shua (meaning to deliver or save). The letter Y was changed to an I in Latin and Greek and became a J in English. Jehoshua was eventually shortened to Joshua.
Recap part of Day 6: Genesis 2:7-25 details the creation of man and woman. It says on Day 6 in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 2:7 details the creation of man. Genesis 2:8-17 details man’s responsibilities. Genesis 2:19-20 we see his name: ADAM, and all the work that he performs. God noticed Adam was lonely Vs 18, after all, all the animals Adam was naming had mates (how much time passed?).
Time for God to provide a mate for Adam (wait didn’t God create male and female on day 6? Where was the woman?) She was in Adam: Genesis 2:21-22. God perform surgery and removes from Adam that from which He will create the woman. (perhaps rib would better be translated: womb). Genesis 2:23-25 Adam meets the woman. She is not called EVE until after she sins Genesis 3:20.
Genessis 2:1-2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Because of 2 Peter 3:8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day., there are some that teach this must have been a long period of time. But each day ends with “the evening and the morning were”. One day consists of an evening and a morning, 12 hours each, 24 hours in all. Take your pick 7 days or 7,000 Years
