Stress

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, “how heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

He continued, “And that’s the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you’ve rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!”

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
-* Accept that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue.
-* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
-* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
-* If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
-* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
-* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
-* Never buy a car you can’t push.
-* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.
-* Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.
-* Since it’s the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
-* The second mouse gets the cheese.
-* When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.
-* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
-* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
-* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
-* We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
-* A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.
-* You Can Stop a Do BUT YOU CAN NEVER UNDO A DID.
-* The wise does at once what the fool does at last.

SOMEONE ONCE SAID there are three types of people in the world: Those who make things happen; those who watch what happens; and those who never know what happened.

“A good reputation is the hardest thing to build and the easiest thing to destroy.”
“Successful people are the one who can think up things for the rest of the world to keep busy at”
“You cannot have success without the failures”

“It is a luxury to be understood”

Which are You?

Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Jesus the Man Part 2

Over 2000 years ago a man appeared and made many claims about Himself, such as He was the Son of God. Here are some of the other claims He made:
John 6:35 … I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 8:12 … I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:23 … Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
John 8:58 … Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John 10:9 … I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John 10:14 … I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John 11:25 … I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 14:6 … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 15:1 … I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

For a man to claim all these (and many more) about Himself, must fall into one of three categories: First – He’s a liar, Second – He’s a lunatic OR Third – He’s what he claims to be, THE SON OF GOD. If the First or Second be true, then we can ignore Him! BUT, if the third is true, then we owe Him our worship and love.

THOUGHT: If Christ is the WAY, why waste time traveling some other way!

Jesus the Man Part 3

Just who was this man who walked about doing Miracles, healing the ill, making bold statements about God and Himself?
What place, if any, does He have in your life?
What place should He have in your life?
To evaluate this, Let’s read the testimony of a few that came into contact with Him:
John the Baptist … John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Nathaniel … John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
The Samaritans … John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
The Demons … Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
Simon Peter … Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Martha (sister to Lazarus) … John 11:27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
A Centurion (Roman) … Mark 15:39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
Thomas … John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

What think ye of Christ? Have you acknowledged Him as your Lord and Saviour?

THOUGHT: Christ isn’t valued at all, unless He is valued above all.

Jesus the Man Part 4

Have you looked into the Scripture to learn about HIM? As we look, pay particular attention to what He did. We saw what he said, what others thought.
John 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
John 2 At the wedding of Cana He turned water into wine.
Matthew 8:23-27 He calmed the storm.
Mark 11:14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
Mark 8:8 So they did eat (the 5,000), and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.
Mark 2:12 (Healed the lame) And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
Mark 2:5 (forgave sin) When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Mark 9:25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
John 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
He has all authority (Power) in Heaven and Earth. He has the power to save:
Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

THOUGHT: Christ paid the price for the gift of salvation – But it’s not yours unless you believe.

Jesus the Man Part 5

As Jesus walked the face of this world, he went about healing the sick, setting the captive free, and teaching with authority. At a young age he suffered and dies a martyrs death, he was buried and three days later he arose from the dead.
Did this mean anything then?
Does it mean anything now?
Does it mean anything to you?
Look at the words of Christ concerning these things concerning end times:
Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And to the High Priest Matthew 26:64Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
The angels said: Acts 1:11 … Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Yes, Jesus will return to this earth, the scripture makes this very clear.
But when? Jesus warned us to be ready.

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And added Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Jesus states the reason for His return in Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
And again Matthew 25:31-34 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
The Scriptures speak much of the second coming of Christ, of course, there are scoffers. Peter wrote of them 2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Yes, there is much confusion about the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because people refuse to look into the Scripture and to rightly divide the Word, or study it.

THOUGHT: The world says SHOW ME and I’ll believe: God says BELIEVE and I’ll SHOW YOU!

Jesus of Nazareth Part 5

As Jesus walked on earth, he went about healing the sick, raising the dead, performing miracles, and teaching with authority. At a young age he suffered and died a martyrs death, was buried 3 days later rose from his tomb.
Did this mean anything then?
Does it mean anything now?
Does it mean anything to you?

Acts 1:11 The angels said: … Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Yes, Jesus, The Lord Jesus Christ, is going to return to this earth, His word makes that very clear. BUT WHEN? He warned us to be ready.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

The scripture speaks much of His second coming, to rule and reign over all the earth. Of course there are scoffers.
2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Yes, there is confusion about the second coming of the Lord Jesus, because people refuse to look into the Scripture and see what God has to say.

Thot: The world says SHOW ME and I’LL BELIEVE. God says BELIEVE and I’LL SHOW YOU.

Mark 9:25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

Jesus of Nazareth Part 2

Approximately 2000 years ago a man appeared and made claims about himself, such as “He was the Son of God”. The Scripture records some of the other claims He made:
John 6:35 I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 8:12 … I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 8:58 … I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
John 14:6 … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

For a man to claim all these things about himself, he must fall into one of three categories:
1 – He is a LIAR
2 – He is a Lunatic
3 – He is what he says he is, the Son of God.
If either of the first two are true, we can ignore him and throw out the Scriptures.
But if the 3 is true, we owe Him our love and worship.

Thot: If Christ is the way, why waste time traveling some other way!

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
