Paul reminds the Jewish believers of God’s wrath. Hebrews 3:11So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Hebrews 4:3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 11:27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
James instructs his fellow believing Jews not to let anger rule their lives: James 1:19-20 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
John writes more detail about the wrath of God that is still coming. Revelation 6:16-17, 11:18, 12:12, 14:8,10,19, 15:1,7, 16:1,19 Revelation 18:3, 19:15
Paul reminds us of what we are when we are not led by the Spirit (saved) Acts 19:28And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. 2 Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: Galatians 5:19-20 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Paul reminds the Ephesians that wrath was(is) our old nature but we should not yield to it Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Ephesians 4:31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Paul speaks of the wrath of God to come (Tribulation) 1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 2:16Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
This prophecy of unprecedented difficulty for Jacob’s descendants will be fulfilled just before the second coming of Jesus Christ. The reason for God’s punishment is found in His instructions to their ancestors millennia ago. Recognizing the ancient Israelites’ hostility toward Him and His commands, God told Moses: “Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them. And I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods” (Deuteronomy 31:16-18). Repeating what God had revealed to him, Moses told the people: “For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands” (verse 29). Daniel spoke of this latter fulfillment, saying, “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:1-2).
In addition to the troubles coming to Jacob’s descendants, Jesus also spoke of an unprecedented time of difficulty that would threaten all nations just before His return. Describing this period of time, Jesus said, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened” (Matthew 24:21-22).
Essentially, the time of Jacob’s trouble corresponds to the same time period called the Great Tribulation. World conditions will be worse than any time in history, and humanity will be on the brink of self-destruction.
Children’s Day dates back to the 1860s or even earlier when Children’s Day was first celebrated in America. In 2000, President Bill Clinton declared October 8th to be celebrated as Children’s Day thereafter. But in 2001, President George W. Bush announced June 3rd as National Child’s Day and the commemoration of this day on the first Sunday in June every year. In researching this, it is very confusing. Isn’t Christmas children’s day? What about Easter? And their Birthday? Seems we have a lot of days that are Children’s Day! Do we really need a National Children’s Day? Yes, we should cherish and love our children. See what the Scripture says: Psalm 127:3-4 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Psalm 128:3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. This even includes grand children: Proverbs 17:6 Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. And we should instruct them: Psalm 34:11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Proverbs 4:1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. Proverbs 5:7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 6:20My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Proverbs 7:24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Proverbs 8:32Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. When father and mother cherish, love and instruct their children: Proverbs 1:8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. Proverbs 20:7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. Proverbs 31:28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
May GOD’S richest blessings be yours as we take time to meditate in His Word. Think about how God has invaded history. The Holy Spirit has recorded Peter’s words to Israel concerning the life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Acts 2:22-23 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: He quotes David, using him as an example to establish that Jesus is the Christ, that Jesus is LORD . Acts 2:36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Jesus is the Christ, that Jesus is LORD. JESUS is indeed GOD IN FLESH.
Think of it – GOD became MAN and dwelt among us – God invaded History.
Had it ever happened before? Had God ever invaded life on this planet before? As any student of Scripture knows, the answer is YES.
Time prevents a real look into each event, but let us ponder a few …. The Garden of Eden … The flood when Noah, his wife, 3 sons and their wives were saved in the Ark The tower of Babble … Choosing of Abram (renaming him Abraham) …. The birth of Moses … Setting the Children of Israel free from Egypt … The list goes on …..
The question then arises, WILL GOD AGAIN INVAID HISTORY? The answer is YES … During the Translation of the Church (Rapture)… The returning of the LORD Jesus in all His glory, establishing His 1000 year reign on earth … But, right now, more important … God wants to invade your life … He wants to dwell in you, to be your God … 2 Corinthians 2:16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday (But don’t count Sundays). It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. One can safely conclude that by the end of the fourth century, the 40-day period of Easter preparation known as Lent existed, and that prayer and fasting constituted its primary spiritual exercises.
Palm Sunday is a Christian moveable feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. The feast commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The date of the first observance of Palm Sunday is uncertain. Palm Sunday was frequently marked by the burning of Jack-‘o’-Lent figures. This was a straw effigy that would be stoned and abused on Ash Wednesday and kept in the parish for burning on Palm Sunday.
Good Friday was kept beginning in the Middle Ages as it was associated to easter by the Roman Catholic church. Good Friday the supposed day the Lord Jesus died on the cross. (SEE Three Days)
Easter celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the tomb. Celebrated in March or April. The First Council of Nicaea (325 AD) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the March equinox.
Started 1914 — Mother’s Day is observed the second Sunday in May. Started 1972 — Father’s Day is observed on the third Sunday of June.
Family, Parents, Fathers Mothers, and children, all these words are under attack today. Not just the words but the very meaning of the words. Parents no longer mean a father (male) and a mother (female) who have given birth (or adopted) a child. Father no longer means the male partner in a family with children. Mother no longer refers to a female partner in a family with children. Mother is no longer a female who has given birth to a baby, she is now called a birthing parent. And men can also be called birthing Parent? Getting pregnant and giving birth? A child is no longer Boy (male) or Girl (female). More thoughts about Cain. Think about Adam and Eve. Expelled from the Garden, no more walks in the Garden with God, work by the sweat of the brow, knowing they would die. Then, Eve delivers a SON, she cries “ I have gotten a man from the LORD”. How happy they both must be. Then another son (and some daughters). They taught their children how the sacrifice to the Lord. The sons grow and go out, one becoming a shepherd and the other a farmer. Then comes the time for them to bring an offering to the Lord. Genesis 4:3-4And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: Remember Adam and Eve shown them how this was done. Abel brings his offering, the shed blood, to atone for sin. Cain brings his, THE WORK OF HIS HANDS! Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Cain gets angry. Genesis 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. The LORD offers Cain another chance.Genesis 4:6-7 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Many Christians today are guilty of ‘The way of Cain’, not trusting in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, BUT by their own works. NOT the way of Cain, BUT the way of the Cross.
Romans 4:4-5Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Ephesians 2:8-10For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Titus 3:5-7 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The Lord said: Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. NOT the way of Cain, BUT the way of the Cross.
This age will be consummated. The Christian dead will be liberated Living Saints will be translated. The faithful will be remunerated. The Heavens will be animated. The worldly Church will be humiliated. The modern critics will be repudiated. The godless will be located. God’s truth will be confirmed. The world will be consternated. The faithless will be remonstrated. The tribulation will be inaugurated. The earth will be renovated. Suffering will be terminated. Sin will be eradicated. Holiness will be perpetuated. All believers will live forever.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But Gideon did have some good traits: Judges 6:15 Humility… I am the least in my father’s house. 6:17 Caution… shew me a sign … 6:24 Spiritually … Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD …(also 7:15) 6:27 Obedience… did as the LORD had said unto him: … 6:34-36 Fellowship with God … Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon,(also 7:4,9) 7:16-18 Strategy… he divided the three hundred men into three companies 8:1-3 Tact… What have I done now in comparison of you? 8:22-23 Loyalty to God… the Lord shall rule over you.
BUT even the best (when they trust themselves) fall into sin!
