The Lord Jesus reminded his followers that as the Priests served in the Temple, they were blameless.
• Matthew 12:5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? • Luke 1:6And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.)
Paul assures believers that we shall be held Blameless in Christ:
• 1 Corinthians 1:8Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. • Philippians 2:15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; • Philippians 3:6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. • 1 Thessalonians 5:23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul points out that leaders in the church must be blameless (before others in this life)
· 1 Timothy 3:2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; • 1 Timothy 3:10And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. • 1 Timothy 5:7And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless. · Titus 1:6If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. • Titus 1:7For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
Peter, writing to Believing Jews about their standing before God.
• 2 Peter 3:14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Believer’s who have died or will die before the translation (Rapture) of the Church, go to be with Christ and will return with Him during the Rapture and will return with Him at the 2nd Coming. Present with HIM at death Luke 23:43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Philippians 1:23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: (Psalm 16:11) Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Return with Him at Rapture 1 Thessalonians 3:13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. 1 Thessalonians 4:14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1 Thessalonians 4:17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Believer’s Judgement Romans 14:10-12But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. reward vs 14If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. So run, that ye may obtain. 2 Timothy 4:8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Revelation 2:10Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. compare Luke 19:17-26 1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. COMPARE Matthew 10:41-42 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. 1 Thessalonians 2:19For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
Acts 13:46-49 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

Now comes the hard part. Living a Christian life is difficult.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Yes, Christ is the foundation, Your salvation, bought and paid for by His Death, Burial, and Resurrection (and ascension into heaven ACTS 1:9 And when HE had spoken these things, while they beheld, HE was taken up; and a cloud received HIM out of their sight.)
BUT you, by the way you live, will be building upon this foundation. Your actions will be sending the building materials. Will they last? Or will they be burned and destroyed?

Salvation is based on the DEATH, BURIAL and RESSURECTION of Christ Jesus: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sinsaccording to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
WE can accept and believe it NOW and be saved from eternal damnation or we can reject it and accept the judgment to come.
Romans 10:9-13That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. JESUS IS LORD. Acceptance in this life or Judgment in the next. 2 Corinthians 5:10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Romans 14:10-12But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:12-19Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Believed and Spoken of in the Old Testament: Job 19:25-27 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: … Isaiah 26:19Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: … Five Resurrections: First Resurrection: Christ Matt 28:1-10In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
1 Thessalonians 5:23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A loved one dies! Their soul and spirit depart from the Body. The Body is Buried, Cremated or otherwise disposed of, prayerfully in a proper way. But what of the Soul and Spirit? Before we see what the New Testament teaches, let’s start in the old Testament. In Genesis most of the time it says of a person “and he died”. But then we come to Enoch (Genesis 5:21-24). VS 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Body, Soul and Spirit.
Then the Old Testament goes on “and he died” until we get to Elijah (2 Kings 2:2) And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. (2 Kings 2:11) And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. Body, Soul and Spirit.
These two men went to be with the Lord in bodies of Flesh, Blood and Bone/Soul and Sprit (not a glorified body). But where did they go? The Lord Jesus had to be the first to rise from the dead and ascend into Heaven with a Body of Flesh and Bone, He had shed his blood on Calvary. (1 Corinthians 15:20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept).
Now from the New Testament: Matthew 17:3-4, Mark 9:4-5, Luke 9:30-33 (And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.). These men, Moses and Elias, had BODIES and they were recognized by the disciples, they heard them speak. (Now Moses had died (Deut 34:5-6) and was buried. Elias (Elijah) had been taken to Heaven in a whirlwind). Yet here they were, in bodies that were recognizable and speaking. Bodies of flesh, blood and bone, soul and spirit?
In Luke 16:19-31, The Lord Jesus tells a story, giving us a glimpse of what happened in death up and to the time of His resurrection and ascension into Heaven. In Luke 23:43 The Lord Jesus, on the cross, verified to the thief, that Paradise was a real place that the soul/spirit go to upon death. Either that or He lied to the thief that day.
The location of Paradise was in the center of the earth: Matthew 12:40 (For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.), Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?). And He went there to set free those who dwelt there: 1 Peter 3:19 (By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;). But what did they look like? It is evident they could see each other Luke 16:19-31. They must have had bodies. The rich man could see and identify Abraham and Lazarus. He could feel pain and wanted Lazarus to dip his finger in cool water and cool his tongue. (BODIES!)
The Scripture listed below will show that the resurrection was taught, promised and fulfilled. During His ministry, even though the Lord told them bluntly about his death burial and resurrection, they did not understand until after it happened. And after his ascension into heaven, they preached it.
Matthew 11:5, Luke 7:22The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 16:21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Luke 9:22Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. Matthew 17:9And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. Matthew 17:23 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. Luke 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Luke 18:33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. Luke 20:35-38But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. John 5:29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 11:24-25Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: Matthew 20:19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again. Matthew 26:32, Mark 14:28But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. Matthew 27:64-64Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
And then it was fulfilled:
Matthew 28:6-7, Luke 24:6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. Mark 16:6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Mark 16:9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. Luke 24:34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. John 21:14This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead. Luke 24:46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: John 20:9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. John 2:22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
During the 3 year ministry of the Lord Jesus, His apostles followed him and did as he instructed, believing him to be the Messiah, the coming King of Israel. But when he was crucified, they panicked and fled. But then, when He arose from the grave and walked with them for forty days, ascending into heaven, they became bold and Preached the resurrection. And Saul, after his conversion on the road to Damascus, also preached the resurrection.
Acts 1:22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Acts 2:31-32 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Acts 3:26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Acts 4:2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 5:30The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Acts 10:40-41 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. Acts 13:23Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus: Acts 13:30But God raised him from the dead: Acts 13:33-34God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Acts 13:37But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Acts 17:18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. Acts 17:31-32 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter. Acts 23:6But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. Acts 24:21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
1 Peter 1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Without the resurrection, Christianity is no different from any other belief. The resurrection is our hope of eternal life, to be with Him.
