How long is THREE DAY and THREE NIGHTS? Is it Friday thru Sunday? Or is it Thursday thru Saturday? Note: the Jewish Day begins at Evening 6 pm and Day at 6 am (Genesis 1:5) a 24 hour day. Three Days is mentioned 61 times in the Bible the most known is Christ’s time in the tomb and Jonah’s time in the belly of the great fish.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Noah

GENESIS 6-10 Tells the story of Noah. How being called of God, he obeyed God and built an ark. He built it for the saving of all who would believe.

Noah is mentioned 9 times outside of the Book of Genesis. In the list of generations, starting with Adam, he’s listed tenth from Adam:
1 Chronicles 1:4 Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
In Isaiah God repeats His oath NOT to flood the world again.
Isaiah 54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
In Ezekiel, God speaks of Noah’s righteousness:
Ezekiel 14:14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God.
Ezekiel 14:20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus tells us of how the world will be before He returns:
Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Luke 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
The Apostle Paul writing to the Hebrews reminds of Noah’s faith and righteousness:

And finally, Peter recalls the story of Noah and the flood;

Adam and Eve

Genesis 1:27-28,31 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Genesis 2:7-8 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.

Genesis 2:19-20 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.

Genesis 2:21-23 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

When the Lord God created man, the female was inside him. The Lord God called him (them) ADAM. He then placed the man (Adam) in the garden and had him name all the animals which the Lord God brought to him (this indicates a passage of time. As the animals were brought to Adam (probably by two’s, male and female) but Adam was alone. So the Lord God put Adam to sleep and removed the “rib” (womb) from Adam and formed the wo(womb)man. When Adam awoke and the Lord God presented her to Adam, Adam called her wo(womb)man and Adam named her Eve.

The Book of Books

“This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him.” (Genesis 5:1)

The Bible (literally “the book”) contains over 200 references to books. This implies, among other things, God’s approval of communication by books. Our text, containing the first mention of the word “book” in the Bible, indicates that the very first man wrote a book! “Give attendance to reading,” Paul recommends (1 Timothy 4:13), especially the Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:15-17).

The pattern of first and last mentions of “book” in the Bible is noteworthy, for all refer to divinely written or divinely inspired books. The first use in the New Testament is in the very first verse-“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ” (Matthew 1:1). The book of Adam’s “generations” is, in a special sense, the Old Testament; the book of the generation of Jesus Christ—the last Adam—is, in a similar sense, the New Testament.

The final mention of “book” in the Old Testament is in Malachi 3:16: “A book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.”

The third-from-last verse of the New Testament contains no less than three references to God’s books: “If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, . . . and from the things which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:19).

According to Revelation 20:12-13 these books will be used by God to judge mankind and his works. (see Daniel 7:10, 1 Cor 3:13-15)

Note the significant modifiers attached to these six key references: “the book of the generations of Adam,” “a book of remembrance,” “the book of the generation of Jesus Christ,” “the book of this prophecy,” “the book of life,” and finally, simply “this book”!
Books were not always books as we know them today, they were scrolls.

Personal Standards for Music

My musical stand as a Christian is not something that I base on feelings, family traditions, or popularity. It is definitely not something I trust my own thoughts on. Everything that I believe about music I have studied and prayed about. I am aware that my musical standards will effect my family, my ministry, and my influence over other Christians. With God as my judge I make every attempt to state my standards in a way that will always be pleasing to Him
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:19-21
The standards of the world’s music today are worse then ever before in human history. More people worldwide will listen to any genre of music without thinking or caring about if it has an affect on them. In the early 1900s one would be hard pressed to find an individual who did not know a hymn book through, but in today’s society, most people have never heard a hymn sung in their life. Though society’s musical standards have changed immensely, music itself has not. The beats and lyrics may differ, but the underlying affect and evil of the world’s music has not changed. King Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes that there is nothing new under the sun.
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which is done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9
Music has always been the devil’s instrument. Before Satan was cast out of Heaven, it is very likely that he was in charge of the music. Since the Bible tells us that the angels constantly praise and worship God, it may also be possible that Satan led them in song worship. Whatever his specific duty, it is certain that Satan knows how to use music.

Parable of Lost Fellowship

There was a man, who because of a famine in the land, had to leave his family and go to a far off country. There he found work, but he was sad and lonely. For even though he loved and served the Lord, those with whom he worked were seekers of pleasure and not seekers of God. At first they were friendly and invited the man to join with them in their gaiety but as he refused, for it would dishonor the Lord, the invitations came less and less.

One day he discovered a group of people who loved and served the same Lord he did. His heart was filled with gladness. They joined together 3 times a week for fellowship and worship of the Lord. As he attended these meetings, the hand of fellowship was offered, he was made to feel welcome, his soul was refreshed, but sadness and loneliness soon vexed his soul again. Because for as friendly as the group were at each meeting, the friendliness stopped there.

The man was never invited to partake of fellowship after the meetings. So as long as the man stayed in the far off country, he was sad and lonely.
