Several men were named Abiathar 1 Samuel 22:20-22 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David. And Abiathar shewed David that Saul had slain the LORD’s priests. And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father’s house. 1 Samuel 23:6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand. 1 Samuel 23:9 And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod. 1 Samuel 30:7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
2 Samuel 8:17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe; 2 Samuel 15:24 And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city. 2 Samuel 15:27 The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. 2 Samuel 15:29 Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 2 Samuel 15:35-36 And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king’s house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok’s son, and Jonathan Abiathar’s son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. 2 Samuel 17:15 Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled. 2 Samuel 19:11 And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house. 2 Samuel 20:25 And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:
1 Kings 1:7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him. 1 Kings 1:19 And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called. 1 Kings 1:25 For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king’s sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah. 1 Kings 1:42 And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings. 1 Kings 2:22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 1 Kings 2:26-27And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh. 1 Kings 2:35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar. 1 Kings 4:4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

Mark 2:26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
His story is recorded in 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles & Amos: 2 Kings 12:21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. 2 Kings 13:12And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 2 Kings 14:1 In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah. 2 Kings 14:8-9 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face. And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle. 2 Kings 14:11But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah. 2 Kings 14:13 And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits. 2 Kings 14:15 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 2 Kings 14:17-18 And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years. And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 2 Kings 14:21And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah. 2 Kings 14:23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years. 2 Kings 15:1In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign. 2 Kings 15:3And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
1 Chronicles 3:12 Amaziah his son, Azariah his son, Jotham his son, 1 Chronicles 4:34 And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah, 1 Chronicles 6:45 The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah, 2 Chronicles 24:27 Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. 2 Chronicles 26:1Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah. 2 Chronicles 26:4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.
Amos 7:10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words. Amos 7:12Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: Amos 7:14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:

Read John 10:1-16 vs 10 “they might have it more abundantly” (What does that mean to you….) The Bible is for everyone … and applies to all: Rich, Poor, Black, White, Yellow, Brown, Widow, Orphan… It cannot only involve: Material things … TV, Cars, Boats, etc. External things … Food, Clothing, Job … Personal things … Education, friendships, marriage, children … This is written to all Believers, regardless of status in life, no matter where one lives. Free Land, Communist Land, Dark Jungles, poor Nations, everywhere … THEN, what is the Abundant Life? Let’s look at 5 points from Scripture:
A Life of Submission to the Lord. The Cross brings Salvation The Resurrection brings Victory. The Abundant Life is a victorious Life. Colossians 3:1-4If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
A Life of Service. (For and to Christ) Christ’s Example Mark 10:45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many., Philippians 2:7-8But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Believers Responsibility Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
A Life of Separation. (Not removal, BUT Denial, saying NO to self) Galatians 5:16-21 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Colossians 3:5-9Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
A Spirit filled Life. (Controlled) Not as hard as it sounds. Pray daily “not my will, THY will be done” Some suggestions from the Bible: Ephesians 5-6 Spirit Filled Life.. Seek God’s will every day, in every situation!
A Life of Spiritual growth. Living involves growth …not stagnation 1 Peter 2:2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 2 Peter 3:18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Acts 2:42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Results of these 5 points …An Abundant Life
What is it? Where does one see it? Is it inside or outside? Is it a tattoo? Is it an inserted chip? It will be required for everyone during the time of Jacob’s trouble, the 7-year Tribulation. Just what does the Scripture say? There are passages in Revelation that give insight to this Mark. Revelation 13:11-12 defines who HE is in vs 16. Notice the placing of the mark is IN!! Revelation 13:16-17And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a markintheir right hand, or intheir foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. And again notice IN his forehead or in his hand. Revelation 14:9And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark inhis forehead, or inhis hand, More comments about the MARK. Revelation 14:11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Revelation 15:2And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. Revelation 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. Results of receiving the MARK: Revelation 19:20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. UPON or IN? Revelation 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or intheir hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
So, the question remains, is the MARK a tattoo or a chip inserted under the skin? Whatever it is, it marks and dooms all those who deny the true God, The Lamb of God, The Lord Jesus Christ.
Believers in the Lord Jesus, death, burial and resurrection and that He is God, don’t have to worry about this. WE will be gone.
Without Christ ….. Ephesians 2:1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; In Christ ….. 1 Corinthians 1:2Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s: For Christ .…. Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Through Christ ….. Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Know Christ ….. Phillipians 3:8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, With Christ ….. Phillipians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Like Christ ….. Phillipians 3:20-21For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Christ is All I need
A popular children’s song: Christ is all I need, Christ is all I need, All, all I need, Christ is all I need, Christ is all I need, All, all I need.
He was crucified, For me He died, on Calvary. That He loved me so, This is why I know, Christ is all I need.
OTHER OLD TESTAMENT REFERENCES TO SALT: 2 Kings 2:20-21And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. Ezra 6:9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail: Ezra 7:22Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. Job 6:6Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg? Jeremiah 17:6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Ezekiel 16:4And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. Ezekiel 43:24 And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD. Ezekiel 47:11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. Zephaniah 2:9Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. The Lord Jesus taught: Matthew 5:13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Mark 9:49-50For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. Luke 14:34Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? From the Apostle Paul: Colossians 4:6Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. From James: James 3:12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
Many sermons have been/are preached on God’s Love and Love is definitely an attribute of God. As the apostle John writes: 1 John 4:8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. And the Lord Jesus said: John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God created Man to Love him. BUT man has not always loved or obeyed God. During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus warned the Jews about the WRATH TO COME. Matthew 3:7, Luke 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. The Lord Jesus was warning his people that a time was coming when God would punish them, and the whole world for their disobedience and lack of love for God. Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans of the coming wrath of God: Romans 1:18, 2:5,8, 4:15, 5:9, 9:22, He reminds that this wrath was predicted long ago. Romans 12:19Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 13:4-5 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. Ephesians 5:6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Colossians 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the book of HEBREWS 14 times Paul refers to the Lord Jesus. Christ Jesus, Jesus the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus, 8 times Paul calls him Jesus. Paul is writing to Jews who had believed that Jesus was the Messiah. Remember they had seen the man, Jesus. Paul was showing them this same Jesus was in fact God in Flesh. Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
In conclusion… How should we, today, refer to his name? Look what the Apostle writes: 2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. And as we have seen in Paul’s writings, he only refers to Jesus the man in Hebrews.
We don’t know the man, Jesus, we only know the God Jesus. We should address him as: Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus
220 times as Deity, 20 as just Jesus, 1 as another
