Written to Jewish believers – but applicable to the gentile believer 2 Tim 3:16
Written about 65 AD (before the fall of the Temple) and summarizes Gospel of John either after or just prior to Gospel being written. It stresses Faith, Love and Obedience to the Commandments (Law) not for salvation but demonstration of salvation. He stresses the Blood of Jesus and the Name of Jesus for salvation, but nothing about the death, burial and resurrection for salvation. Not one word about the Church (the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:12-16, 5:25-32)
I John

Proverbs 11:5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. 2:11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth Ezekiel 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 2 Samuel 7:16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
