It’s been said, “Everyone must do two things, pay taxes and die”.
Every year we must give an account of our last years earnings, and pay tribute (taxes) to the government.
Filing date is usually April 15th. Have you filed for this year? Have you claimed all your earnings?
A TAX assessor came one day to a pastor to ascertain the amount of taxes he would have to pay. The following conversation took place:
“What property do you possess?” asked the tax man.
“I am a very wealthy man” replied the pastor.
“List your possessions, please” instructed the tax man.
“First, I have everlasting Life”. Romans 6:22
“Second, I have a mansion in Heaven”. John 14:2
“Third, I have peace that passeth understanding”. Philippians 4:7
“Forth, I have joy unspeakable”. Romans 14:17
“Fifth, I have divine love which never faileth”. 1 Corinthians 13:8
“Sixth, I have a faithful wife”. Proverbs 13:10
“Seventh, I have healthy, happy children”. Exodus 20:12
“Eighth, I have true, loyal friends”. Proverbs 18:24
“Ninth, I have songs in the night”. Psalm 42:8
The Tax collector raised his hand, closed his book and said, “Truly you are a very rich man, but your property is not subject to taxation.”
MATTHEW 17:24-27 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
