Thou Shalt Not NT

It’s been said that Christianity is too negative. Too many DO NOT’s and THOU SHALT NOT’s. But a search of the New Testament does NOT bear this out. The Lord Jesus only repeated the THOU SHALT NOT’s found in the 10 Commandment’s.

Matthew 4:7, Luke 4:12 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
Matthew 5:26, Luke 12:59 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Matthew 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Matthew 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Matthew 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

Paul, preaching at Antioch, quotes a Psalm regarding the Resurrection:
Acts 13:35 Wherefore he saith also in another Psalm 16:10, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Then before the high priest, Ananias …
Acts 23:5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
Paul, also quoted from the 10 Commandments.
Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
And later he justified preaches the right to be paid:
1 Corinthians 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
1 Timothy 5:18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
And the resurrected Lord Jesus reminded the assembly at Sardis, about his second coming:
Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

So, where is the too negative. The too many DO NOT’s and THOU SHALT NOT’s?
The true believer has LIBERTY.
Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Saved to Serve.

ARK of the Covenant

Ark of the Covenant Raiders of the Lost Ark chest Movie | Etsy

Just what was the ARK OF THE COVENANT? Why was it Built? How was it Built? What was it used for? What did it contain? Where was it to be kept? What happened to it?

12 Commands for the construction:

The construction is found in Exodus 25:10-16,
Exodus 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

What was in the ARK:

Deuteronomy 10:3-5 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand. And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me. And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.

Exodus 40:20-21 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark: And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
The testimony: (Exodus 40:20)
Exodus 16:33-34 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
Numbers 17:10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not.
Deuteronomy 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Why were these objects chosen:

TEN COMMANDMENTS … to remind the (Jews) People that they had broken God’s basic laws and were in need of Salvation.
MANNA … to remind the (Jews) people that they rejected God’s daily provision.
ARRON’S ROD … to remind the (Jews) people that they rejected God’s leadership.
MOSES BOOK … to remind the (Jews) people of God’s many work’s in their lives.

ARK of the Covenant Part 2

How was the ARK to be used:

It was used to lead the Jews into the promise land by going before them (Joshua 3, 4, 6).
It was used in leading them in battle to remind them God was with them (1 Samuel 4)

Fate of the Lost Ark Revealed? - HISTORY
Where was it to be kept:

Instructions as to where it would be kept:
Exodus 26:33-34 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

What became of the ARK …

Last mentioned in 2 Chronicles 35:3 And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
Last prophecy is in Jeremiah 3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

What did John see:

Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Today believers don’t need the ARK, the Lord Jesus is all we need.

The ARK of the Covenant will reappear during the TRIBULATION!
