Wrath NT Part 2

Paul reminds us of what we are when we are not led by the Spirit (saved)
Acts 19:28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
2 Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
Galatians 5:19-20 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Paul reminds the Ephesians that wrath was(is) our old nature but we should not yield to it
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Paul speaks of the wrath of God to come (Tribulation)
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 2:16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Why Does God Love Us? Part 4

Finally a person can try to find the answer to why God loves man. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” (1 John 3:1a) Throughout the Bible man is referred to as the “children of God.” “For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26) When a wicked man repents of his sin and accepts Christ as his Savior, he has then been saved and can enter into God’s family. Christians are called the children of God because they are saved. Knowing that Christians are God’s his children, it is easy to understand God’s love for them. It is a natural thing for a parent to love his child. “Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Matthew 7:9-11) God’s love for Christians is understandable, but what about his love  for non Christians? The Bible tells us that God loves all men. How can God love wicked people who are not His children? One reason could be that we are God’s creation. When someone creates something and he makes something with his own hands, he puts care and devotion into it. Painters put passion into what they paint, architects take time and effort when they build their structures. Anything one creates himself makes the creator proud. At the beginning of time God Himself brought man into the world. Adam was formed out of the ground and Eve was formed from Adam’s rib. Therefore God is man’s Creator. He desires to love man, He is not forced to, He wants to. Man often takes this love for granted and does not thank God for it. Humans rush around with busy schedules everyday, rarely does anyone stop to take the time to thank God for His great love. A God who can love so unselfishly and unconditionally is a great God and it is a sin to forget what He has done for man. Men must take time to realize that weather or not he is catholic, atheist, black, white, short or tall, he is God’s creation and that is why God loves him. God does not love man for what man does for God or even for the companionship he was created for. God simply loves man because they are His own. When a person finally realizes the absolute greatness of God’s love for man, he should be in shock. They have clearly seen who God is, what man is, why God shouldn’t love man, and finally, why he does love man. So what should someone do with this knowledge of God’s love? First, he should get on his knees and thank God. Thank him for his own creation, God’s mercy and God’s love. Second, one should praise God. “Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6) Lastly, one must go and tell other people about God’s great love. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) The human race is on a path to hell because of their sin, but God loved men so much that He made a way to escape. His only son Jesus came and died on a cross, shed his blood to take the punishment meant for wicked man. This was God’s way of salvation for the world. So those who know how to be saved are commanded to tell others about it. If one truly realized the extent of God’s love, it would be impossible for him to keep it to himself, he would desire to share it with everyone he knew. Because of God’s love man exists, because of God’s love man has a beautiful world that God created for men to live in, and because of God’s love man is saved from the fires of Hell. “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he hath loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved.)” (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Why Does God Love Us? Part 3

The second thing one must consider what is man? “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) Man is simply a creation of God. Man literally came from dirt. Humans are compared to clay in a potter’s hands because God formed man out of the ground. Man has no real reason to exist, except for the fact that God created humans for His own companionship. Humans did not come into existence because of a big bang, random mutation or for any other reason. They had a beginning that started with God. The creation of man could be compared to a person baking cookies. There is no reason for the cookies to be made besides the pleasure it brings to the baker. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden they broke fellowship with God. Man was no longer the companions that God had created. God could have destroyed man and started over, but He didn’t. He had compassion on Adam and Eve, they were punished, but allowed to live. Humans still exist today by the mercy of God. God is a perfect Being, man is far from perfect. Man has no power, he is limited in his abilities and he is flawed. Humans are very fragile. One fall may cause a broken bone, a bad car crash may cause death. Humans cannot know everything, they cannot be everywhere and they cannot do everything.

Oxygen, food and water are essential to keep men alive. Excluding just one of those items will kill a man. Therefore he is far from the perfect form of God. Man also sins. It is impossible for God to commit sin, yet humans do it everyday. Many men sin without regret and enjoy doing it. “The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Psalm 14:2-3) Third a person must realize why God shouldn’t love man. Given the situation where one man saves the life of another man. What if the saved man walked away and cursed the man that saved him? He threw dirt in his face and slandered his name to all who could hear. He never thanked the man for saving his life, in fact he never spoke to him again. Humans have done all that and worse to God. God the Father sent his only son Jesus to die a horrible death on a cross in the place of all man kind for his sins. After

such a sacrifice, man is still very sinful and wicked. A small percentage of the world has accepted Christ as Savior and been saved but most of the world pretends that God doesn’t exist. Even the Christians still continue to sin and hurt God. Men are ungrateful to God for the great mercy He has given. They walk around praising Allah and Buddha, but never embracing the one true God. Man’s actions toward God are as ridiculous as if the baker’s cookies hopped off the pan, turned around and slapped the baker in the face. Some men even act as if there is no God. The theory of Evolution came about because one man did not want to believe in the Creator of the universe, so he tried to prove that man originated from monkeys. Schools teach their students that scientifically God cannot exist. God shouldn’t love man because man has disrespected his name and turned their away from Him. Logically God also shouldn’t love man because man is nothing in comparison to him. God is perfect in every area because He cannot sin. Man is a lowly, dirty and sinful creature. God is perfect and yet He still loves man. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinner, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) God shouldn’t love man because men are prideful and selfish creatures. Humans are destructive, they can tear down another person by just using words. In today’s society people are taught to think about themselves first. In an article written by Lorna Matin on how selfishness has ruined society, it is stated that,‘Eighty-nine percentage of adults say that children are more materialistic then previous generations.” This is caused by the “me” attitude of today’s culture. Human’s have been trained that everything revolves around self and that pleasing self is the ultimate goal. God did not create man for that purpose. Man was created for God’s pleasure Man’s only responsibility is to bring glory to God the Father. God paid the ultimate sacrifice by sending His son to die for mankind, a truly unselfish act. The devil has integrated the world’s mindset and has caused man to lose sight of his true purpose. In the end there is no logical reason why God loves man.

Why Does God Love Us? Part 2

God is omniscient, knowing everything. Paul Reber, professor of psychology at Northwestern University, said, “The human brain has the capacity to hold around 2.5 petabytes (or one million gigabytes). If one person’s brain worked like a video recorder, they would be able to hold up to three million hours of television shows.” That is a lot of knowledge for just one person, yet God knows the knowledge of every person that has ever lived and ever will live. God knows the answers to the questions that men cannot know, like how many hairs are on each human’s head, how many stars there are in the sky and how the human eye works. He knows a person’s deepest secrets and regrets, the pain one feels when he pricks his finger and the joy there is when the baby is born. Such a vast amount of knowledge is impossible for any one man to possess.

God is omnipresent, he is everywhere at the same time. People like to imagine being in two places at once, being able to go to school and be in bed at the same time, but what if someone could really could do that? God can, He can be at the bedside of the man dying in China, and be with the child in America who is saying his bedtime prayer. God can be walking on the Pacific shore and be walking on the Atlantic shore all at the same time he is speaking to someone’s heart in a church service. In Psalm 139:1-12 David tells how God was with him everywhere. Though man has dreamt of it, no person can truly be in more than one place at a time, only God can.

God is omnipotent, he has unlimited power and he is able to do anything. If one took all the fairy tail magic, Aladdin’s lamp, fairy dust and wands and all the imaginary power humans create in their minds, nothing can compare to the true almighty power of God. “O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?” (Deuteronomy 3:24). God does not need magic, he is the source of all power. God created the heavens and the earth out of nothing in six days. God controls the thunder of the skies, the wind of a hurricane, He controls the rotation of the earth, the sunrise and sunset, He controls even time itself. The Devil and all of his angels are no match for the almighty power of God. To grasp the full meaning of who God is, one can look at everything around oneself. Take note of the spider crawling on the ground, the shade from the oak tree, the blue sky, the iPhone in hand, even ones own body, and realize that none of it would exist without God. “For the Lord your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, a great God.” (Deuteronomy 10:17a)

God’s Grace

GOD’S RICHES AT CHRISTS EXPENSE

The Apostle Paul teaching on God’s Grace:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

How to we take advantage of God’s Grace? How can we be sure we have God’s Grace? The Apostle explains how we obtain God’s Grace:

By believing the Gospel: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And then confessing that the Lord Jesus is God. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Believe in the death – burial – resurrection and confess that He (the Lord Jesus) is God.

And We Know

The Apostle Paul writes words of comfort to believers in Rome (They are words for all believers). Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
These words are to comfort our hearts in times of trouble and despair. As these words are read, Paul wrote of other things WE SHOULD KNOW:
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
He reminded believer’s in Corinth of things we know:
1 Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1 Corinthians 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
1 Corinthians 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

He reminded Timothy about the Law:
1 Timothy 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
And to Jewish believer’s He reminded:
Hebrews 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
John the Apostle wrote to Jewish Believer’s:
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
1 John 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
1 John 5:18-20 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Trinity

Trinity - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The word TRINITY is not in the scripture! But the truth is. The Christian Godhead is one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The New Testament speaks of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit together; the Father is understood as the protector of the Jews, the Son as the savior of mankind, and the Holy Spirit as the preserver of the church.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

God’s Will

Thy Will Be Done – Seekers Chapel

Most all believers want to know the will of God for their lives. What should I do? Where can I go or not go? Who should I date? Marry? The questions are endless. There have been many books written on this subject. BUT the only book that really matters is the BIBLE.

The Lord Jesus said it first. Mark 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
The Apostle Paul warns: Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
And preaching to Israel reminds them of God’s will, even in death:
Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

Listed are verses stating the WILL OF GOD. Understanding them will aid in knowing God’s will for you.
Romans 1:10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 15:32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and …
1 Corinthians 1:1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God,
2 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints …
2 Corinthians 8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God, and our Father:
Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God,from the heart;
Colossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus
Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God, in Christ Jesus concerning you.
2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

The Apostle Peter writing to his fellow Jewish believers about the will of God:
1 Peter 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
1 Peter 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
1 Peter 4:2-3 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

And finally the Apostle John writes:
1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Knowing God’s Will – Part 2

It is God’s Will that:  All believer’s be sanctified

1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Positional

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:
1 Corinthians 6:11  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Experientially

Romans 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:21  If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Ultimately

Ephesians 5:26-27  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
1  Thessalonians 4:3-4 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Our Bodies be controlled, filled by the Holy Spirit

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Ephesians 5:18   And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Our Minds

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Our Tongues

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. (See James 3:1-10)

Our Flesh

Romans 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Colossians 3:5  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

In summary:
We must have a knowledge of God’s will
We must be yielded to God
We must be growing in the Grace of God
