Men of God were not perfect. A look at some of them:

Adam disobeyed God. See Genesis 3
Cain Murdered his brother Abel. See Genesis 4
Noah Got drunk. See Genesis 6-9
Abraham lied. See Genesis 12
Isaac lied. See Genesis 25
Esau sold his birthright. See Genesis 25
Jacob lied, adultery. See Genesis 25,29-30
Saul turned his back on God See 1 Samuel 15
David murdered …. Adultery. See 2 Samuel 11,12

These are just a few.
All mankind is guilty of Sin.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
How then can we get right with God?
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
BUT, They had … FAITH in GOD!!!
Read Hebrews 11. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Believe the Gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 …how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Believe and confess that Jesus is God.
Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. … For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

7 Sin Judgements

It begins on the Cross
John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Believer’s works
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Self Judgement
1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
All Nations
Ezekiel 20:37 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Matthew 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
ANGELS
Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Satan
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
The final Judgement
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Enoch’s

The Story of Enoch’s are recorded in Genesis 4-5
There are 2 Enochs mentioned in Scripture:
1st is the 7th son of Adam and Eve. Adam named a city after him.
Genesis 4:17-18 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.
Jude says Enoch (Adam’s 7th son) was a prophet:
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Enoch prophesied the second coming of Christ, at the end of the Tribulation.

2nd Enoch is the son of Jared
Another Enoch is born years later to Jared.
Genesis 5:18-19 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch: And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
Enoch begot Methuselah.
Genesis 5:21-23 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
A picture of the Rapture.
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Luke and Paul Mentions him:
Luke lists the 2nd Enoch in the Genealogy of Christ.
Luke 3:37 Which was the son of Mathusala, which was the son of Enoch, which was the son of Jared, which was the son of Maleleel, which was the son of Cainan,
Paul reminds Jews of Enoch’s removal (before the flood).
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Better Than

The apostle Paul, writing to believing Jews tells them of what is BETTER …
(and they apply to ALL believers!).
Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hebrews 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.
Hebrews 7:7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Hebrews 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Hebrews 10:34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Hebrews 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
Hebrews 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

For Jews

Some people feel that a satisfying worthwhile consists of:
*A good education
*close friends
*a good marriage and healthy children
*success in a business or profession
*helping those in need
*involvement with Israel and the Jewish community
These are important …
yet we all know people who have or do these things but aren’t satisfied.
WHY?
Because there is something even more important than all these.
The Holy Scriptures tell us five vital facts we need to know.

ONE – God is the source of a satisfying, worthwhile life
Psalm16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
This kind of life is the result of a close relationship with God. “In thy presence … at thy right hand”
Speaks of a personal relationship which can be as intimate as the one between Abraham and God:
Isaiah 41:8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Habakkuk 1:13
Deep down, just about everyone wants a life and relationship like this. As a Jewish scientist put it:
“The Jewish nature and soul needs to know God. This is its purpose on earth. Our souls are looking for God and we are trying to know God.”
WHY, then, aren’t most people experiencing this life and relationship?

FAMILY – It’s God’s Plan

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Proverbs 127:1-5 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
The Lord Jesus stated:
Mark 10:6-8 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
The Apostle Paul writes:
Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
1 Timothy 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
As one studies the word of God, we can see the family: Husband (man), Wife (woman) were to produce children and they were a FAMILY.
IT WAS GOD’s PLAN from the beginning.

Eternity Past

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God is eternal, so is there any information on precreation?

This appears to happen before Man was created:
Isaiah 14:12-13 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Was this in the past or going to happen in the future?
Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Is this referring to the encounter with Eve?
Ezekiel 28:12-13 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
No doubt the serpent is Satan:
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
This is long after creation, but it shows Satan still has access to God’s Throne:
Job 1:6-7 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
First mention of SATAN:
1 Chronicles 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
It appears before Genesis 1; God had a Kingdom that consisted of the triune God and a multitude of created Angels!

Fathers Day (3)

Fathers, instruct your Children
Proverbs 1:8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
Proverbs 4:1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
Proverbs 5:7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Proverbs 6:20 My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
This even includes grand children:
Proverbs 17:6 Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
Results of love and proper training:
Proverbs 23:24-25 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

Until a child is 21 be friendly BUT you are NOT their friend.
After 21 they become your friend, but still with fatherly advice.
Love them and discipline them in Love.

No Rain

Of course, before the worldwide flood in Noah’s time, there was NO RAIN. Genesis 7. And then the rain was sent because of SIN, the evil of all mankind Genesis 6:5-6. God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise not to flood the earth again, but would withhold rain.
Moses warned the children of Israel
Deuteronomy 11:17 And then the LORD’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
Solomon also warned them, what God could do
1 Kings 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
2 Chronicles 6:26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
During Elijahs time God withheld the rain
1 Kings 17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
Isaiah also warned the inhabitants of Jerusalem of Gods word
Isaiah 5:6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
During Jeremiah time
Jeremiah 14:4 Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
Zechariah warned of coming events
Zechariah 14:17-18 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
It would appear God uses weather to punish SIN.

A New Creature

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Therefore refers to the preceding verses.
if any man it’s open to all, Jew, Gentile, male, female, to all.
be in Christ, one becomes IN CHRIST when we believe Romans 10:9-13
he is a new creature: Not a making over, but a new creation
things are passed away; 3 things that are passed away:
Condemnation of the LAW is gone!
The power of SIN is gone!
Old friends, desires will be gone!
behold, all things are become new. 7 NEW
A new happiness … here in this life
A new hope … for the future (Rapture, Heaven)
A new reason for living … to serve God and family
A new outlook on life … HE (Christ) lives in me
A new goal … To please Him
A new peace …. Of mind, better thoughts
A new priority …. God, others … self
Let’s summarize:
Our past: Ephesians 2:2-3 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Our present life: Ephesians 2:5-6 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Our future life: Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
