David speaking to all sinners while addressing himself to Absalom. His message in is that the victories of sinners are only temporary and meaningless. Remember only belief in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) can bring true happiness. God gave Israel (and the world) an insight to the life of Christ on earth. God begins with a question. 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? John 12:38That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? The life of the Christ is described. 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The ministry of the Christ is described. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. The name Elias is of Hebrew origin and means “the Lord is God” or “Yahweh is God”. Elias is a form of Elijah in various languages and appears in the Greek New Testament, and the New Testament has a lot to say about him.
Luke 1:17And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

The Apostle Paul referenced Elias: Romans 11:2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying, James also referenced Elias: James 5:17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
