Acts 15:15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is writtenAmos 9:11-12, James 4:5Do ye think that the scripture saithProverbs 3:31, 14:30, 23:17, 27:4, in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 1 Peter 1:16Because it is writtenLeviticus 20:7, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
And Paul also quoted from the Scripture. Acts 23:5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is writtenExodus 22:28, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Luke 1:3-4It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed. Acts 1:1The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
“Theophilus” literally means “loved by God,” but carries the idea of “friend of God.” It’s clear that Luke is writing to a specific individual, even though his message is also intended for all Christians in all centuries. Also important to note that Luke addresses him as “most excellent,” a title often used when referring to someone of honor or rank, such as a Roman official. The reason for writing to Theophilus was “that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught”.
The Magi knew who they were looking for: Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. (Matthew 2:2)
He presented himself as the King of the Jews. “He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Luke 1:33).
The only time Paul refers to the Lord Jesus as King: “Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.” (1 Timothy 6:15)
Paul does write about a time when all will recognize this: “every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:10).
He created all things, He is the King of creation. “For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:3-5). And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)
He is the King of redemption, having set believers free from the kingdom of the wicked one. He “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).
There is a day coming in which all the kings of the earth shall unite against Him. “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14). “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron….And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:15-16). Until then, as joint heirs (Romans 8:17, Titus 3:7), let us submit to Him as Lord.
