Kneel to Pray

Why do we kneel to pray?
Kneeling in prayer is an act of humility, reflecting obedience to what is best for us. Kneeling isn’t the easiest action.
It takes effort and requires a surrendering of our selves.
From the Psalmist:
Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Solomon worships the Lord God:
2 Chronicles 6:13 For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven.
Elijah worships the Lord God:
1 Kings 15:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
Ezra worships the Lord God:
Ezra 9:5 And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,
Daniel worships the Lord God:
Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
The Lord God instructed Isaiah:
Isaiah 45:23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
The rich young man
Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
The Lord Jesus set the example:
Luke 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
Stephen Prayed:
Acts 7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Peter Prayed:
Acts 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Paul Prays:
Acts 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
Acts 21:5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
Paul instructs Believers:
Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Paul quotes Isaiah 45:23:
Romans 14:10-11 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Is it necessary to always Kneel when we Pray?
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Colossians 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Is it necessary to always Kneel when we Pray?
When we can … YES!
But when we can’t, we need to Pray and Thank God always for all things!!
Remember, It’s not the position of the body … It’s the condition of the Heart!

Mystery Blindness of Israel

Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

    This blindness refers to the Nation of Israel not individual Jews.

Are you a Christian 

…is a person who follows or adheres to Christianity.

It appears 3 times in Scripture.
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Acts 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
1 Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Acts 11:26 Refers to Jews who believed Christ Jesus was the Messiah.
Acts 26:28 Agrippa was a Jew who served as King under the Romans.
1 Peter 4:16 Peter is writing to Jews who believed Christ Jesus was the Messiah.

In each of these verses it’s the Jew who believe the Lord Jesus is their Messiah who is called Christian.
What did Paul call the Gentiles who believed in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus?

They are saved, and referred to as Believers, Saints.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints:
There are 45 more times they are called Saints.

Many who are not saved call themselves Christian.
I prefer to call myself a Believer (in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord) and Confess that He is God.
(the requirements for salvation. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9).

Parents Day

Made an American holiday in 1994, Congress unanimously passed the fourth Sunday of July as PARENTS DAY.
Matthew 15:1-9 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
DAD and MOM first… In 1979 the United Nations announced the International year of the Child.
Now don’t misunderstand. We are to love our children. We are to parent them, feed them, provide for and help them with their problems. And a firm believer of children’s rights: THEIR RIGHT TO OBEY THEIR PARENTS.
Every year we hear a lot about child abuse, and I believe all child abusers should be punished, to the full extent of the Law. But let’s define abuse:
In Sweden a parent cannot spank or even speak harshly to a child or they will suffer the consequences of going to jail.
In USA some parents are in jail, awaiting jail terms for correcting their child.
But what about Parents, what about the 5th Commandment,
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother:
Family was (and s) God’s Idea, His plan for mankind.
It is not the result of evolution.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
FATHER, MOTHER, CHILDREN, FAMILY!!!
How does God view obeying parents?
Leviticus 19:3 Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, …: I am the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 27:16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
Proverbs 30:17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Young people … You want to please God? Obey your parents … Do what they ask.

You who no longer live under your parent’s roof … Respect your Parents…
Speak kindly to and about them… Forgive them …… You are not perfect either!!!

Daniel 6


THE LION’S DEN
6:1-3 DARIUS is king of Babylon, Daniel is No. 1 of three presidents;
6:4-9 DECREE that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
6:10-15 DETERMINATION Decree or not, Daniel continues to worship God. That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
Compare Jonah 2:1-4 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
6:16-18 DEN OF LIONS The punishment … Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions.
6:19-22 DELIVERENCE My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Acts 2 Peter slept in Prison, lead out by an angel?
Acts 16 Paul and Barnabas sang in Prison?
Acts 27 Paul was calm in the Storm on the Ship?
Romans 8:31-33 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
6:23-28 DECREE The king was glad Daniel alive. The king punished the accusers.
Then he issued a nation wide decree.
Compare 1 Chronicles 5:20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
Compare Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

God delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Compare Ezra 1:1-2 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Religion


A better definition is … Man’s effort to prove his worth to God.
Look what the Scripture says about religion:
Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Galatians 1:13-14 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
James 1:26-27 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Salvation is the belief in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and confessing Him as God.
1 Corinthians 5:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Daniel 5

Belshazzar’s Banquet    
    Belshazzar is the king of Babylon.  The Medes had surrounded the city and all the country had fallen but the city was virtually impregnable. Belshazzar, in defiance threw a riotous Banquet … to should he had no fear.
            Compare Esther 1:3 In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him:
   As the party progressed, the wine flowed, immorality was in order as the women were brought in and then the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem. He and his drunken co-horts used these dedicated vessels for praising their gods.
            Compare 2 Chronicles 36:10And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.    Then, when all is going well, A HAND STARTED TO WRITE ON THE WALL! …Just a hand, no body attached.
It wrote 4 words “MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN”! 
      FEAR struck the heart of Belshazzar, the evil king.
His knees knocked so bad, they thought someone was at the door.
5:6-10 Finally, in fear, the king called for his wise mem. But even with the promise of reward, third highest in the kingdom, these men could not read or interpret the message. Terror struck their hearts … Fear ripped their souls!
5:11-17 And then Daniel is called for. With the same rewards promised the King pleaded with Daniel.
5:18-23 Daniel replied “Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation”.
MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN is Numbered, Numbered, Weighted, Divided!
5:24-28 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
5:29-31 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom. In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain. And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
As we read the story, we are aghast at the king. The nerve of him, using God’s golden vessels for his riotous party. BUT how many are guilty of the same thing?
The world is besieged by Satan, the devil. And we are having a banquet!
Those around us are dying, going to hell, and we are using God’s vessel for our own pleasure.
God’s Vessels? … Yes, our bodies!
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; …
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1 Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.

Believers who drink, dance, attend evil movies, worry, gossip, speak filthiness, foolishness, covet, are hateful, serving our own lusts etc. …
Mark 7:21-23 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Romans 3:10-18 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: …
2 Timothy 3:2-7 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, …
The handwriting is on the wall (actually in the Scripture)!
Our days are numbered! Our actions are weighted and we are found wanting.
Romans 2:1-6 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

Day of the Lord (2)

The phrase “The Day” appears 284 times in the Holy Scripture (KJV).
But just looking at the Day of The Lord.

A study of these Scripture reveals Israel of a coming destruction which Peter gives a final warning:
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Now, look at the writings of the Apostle Paul, to believers:
1 Corinthians 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
2 Corinthians 1:14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are our’s in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

THE DAY OF THE LORD, for the believer is NOT one of destruction; but a day of rejoicing, the Day of Rapture.
