JOB Question

The Book of Job | Bible Story

Job was blessed, not only with great wealth but with 10 children.
1:2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
1:4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, everyone his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
1:13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:
1:15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
Now God permitted Satan to test Job. 1:6-11 vs 12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
After Satan destroyed Job’s wealth 13-17, he went after Job’s children.
1:18-19 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Job's Wife | Bible Characters

When Satan’s testing failed to turn Job’s heart from God, God blessed Job.
42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Vs 11-12
It then says 42:13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.
Question? Are his original 10 children restored to him from captivity (1:15 and took them away;) or is this 10 NEW children?
Job 42:14-17 (gives us the rest of Job’s days) And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days.
Just a further thought: If Job was 60 when his testing’s started, then he lived at least 200 years, vs 16, and probably longer.

Jacob and Israel

The Greatest Prophets between Christianity and Islam: 9-Prophet Jacob
Genesis 26-50 relates the life story of Jacob. He was the grandson of Abraham and Sarah, the son of Isaac and Rebekah, the twin brother to Easu, Heir to Covenants, Promises God made to Abraham and Isaac. He was the father of 12 sons and some daughters.

Jacob means “to supplant, circumvent, assail, overreach”, a “trickster, deceiver”. And this was his life, until his encounter with God, Genesis 32:24-27 and God changed his name. Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And then again God had to remind Jacob of his new name. Genesis 35:10 And God said unto him, “Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel”.

Who Was Jacob in the Bible? Why Did He Wrestle With God?

Israel means “one that struggled with the divine angel”, “a prince hast thou power with God”. From Exodus thru Malachi there are many references to Jacob and Israel, but a lot of them DO NOT refer to the man (except where it says “the God of Jacob”).

Jacob was the natural man; he became Israel, the spiritual man. References to JACOB now refers the Jew in their natural, unbelief state. Genesis 32:28, 35:10 ISRAEL refers the Jew in their spiritual, though disobedient state. Understanding this truth aides in understanding the scripture.

An example of this is “Jacob’s trouble” found in Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

Jacob in this case is all Jews left on earth after the Rapture. When they see that the “Abomination of desolation” in Daniel 9:27 and spoken of by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 24:15, is NOT their Messiah, the Great Tribulation (last 3.5 years of Jacob’s trouble) begins, and Israel turns to the true God.
Paul gives an explanation of this Jacob (natural) and Israel (spiritual):
Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Anti-Semitism Part 2


It’s Cause:

The term anti-Semitism was first popularized by German journalist Wilhelm Marr in 1879 to describe hatred or hostility toward Jews. The history of anti-Semitism, however, goes back much further.
Some say it’s because of certain National characteristics, bargaining and trading.
In the Middle Ages, the Roman Church designated which occupations were allowed them.
Others say it’s their facial features.
Others say you cannot do business with a Jew because they do shady business deals.
The Jew controls all Banking and monetary flow.
And, again the Jew is annoyingly aggressive.
They are accused of being clannish. always staying in their own group.
Another vivification of the Jew is a depression was brought on by Republican Jews during the Hover Administration.
The Second World War was the influence of Democratic Jews during Roosevelt Administration.
The Jew was responsible for the infiltration of Communism during Truman Administration.
These charges usually form the Gentile answer to the reason for their dislike or hatred of the Jew.
The Jews generally say the reason is the crucifixion of Christ (which many accuse them).
BUT what is the real reason?
The Devil, Satan, is the moving personality behind all anti-Semitism. Satan knew the promised Messiah would come thru the Jew and he tries to stop it by wiping out the Jewish nation.

Anti-Semitism Part 3


It’s Course:

Satan is the cause, and the course is devilish and evil. The first anti-Semite on record is Pharaoh of Egypt Exodus 1:6-14.
Then many years later the book of Esther records the acts of the Jew hating Haman, who tried to kill all Jews.
Later about 168 BC, a violent wave of persecution broke out against the Jews in the time of Antiochus Epiphanes, King of Syria.
Again, the Roman War, 66-70 AD Jerusalem, the Temple wee destroyed and Jews were scattered through-out the world.
The Crusades, 1095-1212 AD were a time when religious emotion ran rampant, blaming the Jew.
Then in the 15th century the Jews became the object of the vile hatred of the Roman Catholic Church. All Jews were ordered out of Spain in 1492.
The persecution of the Jew beginning in 1933 by Hitler included the murder of some 6,000,000 Jews.
Persecution of the Jew continues even today in many parts of the world. BUT AS SURE AS God is in Heaven and His Word is true, the Jew will never be annihilated.
Jeremiah 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

Anti-Semitism Part 4


IT’S CURE:

The Cure extends in three defendant directions: The Individual, The Nations, Israel itself:
When an INDIVIDUAL gets saved (Romans 10:9) then studies God’s word, learns about God’s plans, understands what go has been and is doing, hatred for the Jew disappears.
The cure for Nations is found In Matthew 25 at the judgement of the Nations.
Then when ISRAEL turn with a sincere faith to the Lord Jesus as her Messiah, anti-Semitism will cease.
Hosea 3:4-5 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Zechariah 14:2-4 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

YES, the Jew is God’s chosen people on earth and He will restore their relationship with Him.
The Church, true believers are the Body of Christ and will join Him in Heaven forever.

Jewish Temple

Wilderness wandering’s Tabernacle.

The Temple has been built twice. The First Temple was built in the 10th century B.C.E. by King Solomon, according to the Hebrew Bible (1 Kings 5-9).

The second Temple occurred when Cyrus the Great (Ezra 5:13-17,6:3,14) allowed the Jews to return to the Land of Israel, beginning in 538 B.C.E. A rebuilt Temple was dedicated in 515 B.C.E. – a little-known precursor to the grand structure called Herod’s Temple. It was an expanded and significantly upgraded structure whose construction was led by the half-Jewish, Herod, the Roman-appointed king of Judea who died in 4 B.C.E. Finished in about 20 B.C.E. It was leveled by Titus in 70 B.C.E.

The Jewish nation has been without a Temple and Temple worship (including Animal Sacrifice) since then. Their desire is to (re)built the Temple so their complete Temple worship, according to the Law can resume. According to Daniel 9:27,12:11 the Temple will have to be rebuilt (Matthew 24:15), probably at the beginning of the Tribulation, as the “prince that will come” will cause Temple worship to cease in the middle of JACOB’S TROUBLE. (Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it).

  • Elijah was suicidal
  • Jonah ran from God
  • Naomi was a widow
  • Job went bankrupt
  • Peter denied Christ
  • The Disciples fell asleep while praying
  • Martha worried about everything
  • The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
  • Zaccheus was too small
  • Paul was too religious
  • Timothy had an ulcer
  • AND Lazarus was dead!

And Don’t forget —- Jesus Helped them all!!!!
Now! No more excuses!
God can use you to your full potential. Besides you aren’t the message, you’re the messenger. And one more thing… Share this with a friend or two…
In the Circle of God’s love, God’s waiting to use your full potential, remember:

  1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
  2. Dear God, I have a problem, it’s Me.
  3. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
  4. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.
  5. Do the math .. count your blessings.
  6. Faith is the ability to not panic.
  7. If you worry, you didn’t pray. If you pray, don’t worry.
  8. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday.
  9. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
  10. The most important things in your house are the people.
  11. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still.
  12. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
  13. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
  14. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Feasts of Israel

This is not to be a complete study of the Feasts of Israel, just an overview. For a detailed study, search the web for FEASTS OF ISRAEL. These feasts were given to Israel for worship of God, BUT also to tell them of the coming of MESIAH. He fulfilled some at his death, burial, resurrection and ascension, and will fulfill all at His 2nd coming.

1st Exodus 34:25 PASSOVER | PESACH
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover
God’s sovereign promise to deliver and redeem His people.
2nd Exodus 12:17 UNLEAVENED BREAD
And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread;
Celebrates the ending of Slavery in Egypt and leaving for the promise land.
3rd Exodus 23:16 FIRST FRUITS
And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering,
Celebrates the harvest each year – Resurrection Sunday, or Easter.
4th Exodus 34:22 SHAVUOT | PENTECOST
And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end
50 days after the feast of first fruits. Leviticus 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
5th Leviticus 25:9 YOM TERUAH – THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS (Rosh Hashanah)
Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. A time of repentance
Trumpets were used to announce coming judgements Revelation 6-7.
6th LEVITICUS 16:29-31 YOM KIPPUR – THE DAY OF ATONEMENT –
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD. It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
Mandated establishment of this holy day on the 10th day of the 7th month as the day of atonement for sins. It calls it the Sabbath of Sabbaths and a day upon which one must afflict one’s soul.
7th Leviticus 23:34 SUKKOT – THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES –
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.
It is intended as a reminiscence of the type of fragile dwellings in which the Israelites dwelt during their 40 years of travel in the desert after the Exodus from slavery in Egypt.

Courage

The ability to do something that frightens one.
Strength in the face of pain or grief.

Though out the Old Testament, the Jew, God’s chosen people, were challenged to have COURAGE in their God. He would take care of them if they would only trust and obey Him.

Numbers 13:20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes.
Deuteronomy 31:6-7 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Acts 28:15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Although the word courage is only found once in the New Testament, there are many synonyms for this word. Rather than looking for all of them, as a believer be encouraged in the Apostle Paul’s words written in Philippians, especially chapter 2.

Church(es) Should Preach

…should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ…

  1. The distinct revelation’s given by the Resurrected Lord to the Apostle Paul for this age:
    a. Galatians 1:11-12 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
    b. Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
    c. Ephesians 3:1-9 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
    d. Colossians 1:24-26 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
