SAVED ⇛ Romans 10:9-13

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Psalm 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

Resurrection – According to the Apostle Paul

Defending the Resurrection | Evidence Unseen

How important is it that we believe the Lord Jesus was raised from the dead, resurrected back to life and that he rose from the grave after 3 days and 3 nights?

If an individual can not or will not believe this, then Christianity is no different than any other belief in a god. Let’s see what the apostle wrote to the churches in his day.
To the Churches he wrote:
Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Romans 4:24-25 But… if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 6:4-5 Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. …
Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, …, even to him who is raised from the dead, …
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, …
Romans 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he …
1 Corinthians 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise …
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third …
1 Corinthians 15:12-13 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
1 Corinthians 15:15-17 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? …
1 Corinthians 15:42-44 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, …
2 Corinthians 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
2 Corinthians 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

The Shepherd

Genesis 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

1 Kings 22:17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return …
2 Chronicles 18:16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; …
Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 80:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock;…
Jesus in his earthly ministry to the Jew continues with the Shepherd and Sheep references:
Mark 6:34, Matthew 9:36 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
Mark 14:27, Matthew 26:31 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
John 10:2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:11-12 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Peter writing to Jews continues with the shepherd, sheep reference:

1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown …
NEVER does Paul refer to believer’s as Sheep. ONLY when writing to Jews (Hebrews) does he mention the Shepherd and Sheep:
Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood …

RESURRECTION – Importance of

How important is the resurrection of Christ? And what was his body like after the resurrection?

Read John chapter 20. He looked like a man, Mary talked with him in the garden (John 20:14-17). He appeared to his Disciples (John 20:19-20) and proved it was him, in flesh (John 20:25). Later he appeared to Thomas (John 20:27) again proving he was alive, in a body (John 20:39). He had a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:39) yet he could pass thru locked doors (John 20:26) and he could eat as he dined with them (John 21:12-15, Luke 24:29-30).
How important is the resurrection? The answer is found in 1 Corinthians 15:12-18 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
How important is the resurrection? Because he arose, we too shall rise (if we are dead at His coming) and have new bodies.
1 Corinthians 15:35-36 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Just as Christ rose with a body of Flesh and Bone (his blood was shed on the alter of God to pay for all sin), we too shall have bodies of flesh and bone. But no BLOOD. The reason: Life is in the blood and thru it is our old nature. It has to be removed.

Only One Way

Image result for only one way to heaven

The Lord Jesus speaking to His disciples shortly before His crucifixion saidI am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

Only one way to Eternal Life – through the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 11:13). What did he teach about going to Heaven, Being Saved, SALVATION?
(Note: as you read and study about salvation remember it is a NOW and FUTURE event; NOW when you believe the gospel and a FUTURE event at the time of death or Rapture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Romans 10:9)
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; …
Romans 5:9-10 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
There are 8 more verses in Romans concerning one salvation:
8:24, 9:27, 10:1, 10:9-13, 11:11, 11:14, 11:26 and 13:22
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
There are 7 more verses in 1 Corinthians concerning one salvation:
1:21, 3:15, 5:5, 7:16, 9:22, 10:33 and 15:2.
And is mentioned 4 times in 2 Corinthians 1:16, 2:15 and 7:10 with the key verse being 2 Corinthians 6:2 For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
There are 4 verses in Ephesians the key being it’s by the GRACE of GOD:
Ephesians 1:13, 2:5, 2:8 and 6:17.
Paul mentions salvation 3 times in Philippians 1:19, 1:28, 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (note: you cannot EARN salvation, but you should live holy)
Paul reminded worried Thessalonian believers of their salvation:
1 Thessalonians 2:16, 5:8-9, 2 Thessalonians 2:10 and in 13.
And he reminds Timothy of his salvation and calling:
1 Timothy 1:15, 2:4, 4:16 and 2 Timothy 1:9, 10 and 3:15.
And to Titus, Paul sums up the Grace of God and salvation:
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

What Religion?

Image result for religion

The Apostle Paul mentions Religion three times, and all three refer to what he was/belonged to, the Jewish Religion.

Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Galatians 1:13-14 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

James, the half brother of the Lord Jesus, writing to his Jewish brethren gives a definition of Religion, and being Religious:

James 1:26-27 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

So it remains, WHAT RELIGION?

If your goal is to live a better life and to go to heaven when you die, then to insure this please consider the following verses:

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 10:9-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
