James, Peter, John, and Jude were considered unlearned and ignorant (Acts 4:13). They were never the less used by God (Holy Spirit) to preach, Quoting the Old Testament Scripture (Acts 1,2,3) and to write epistles to the Jewish Assemblies, again quoting O.T. scriptures and alluding to its teachings. Also relying on many teachings of the Lord (from the NT) as they walked with Him over 3 years. Some troubling verses Matthew 26:6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,Mark 14:3And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
WHO is this Simon? It appears that he was a Pharisee! Luke 7:36-39And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat. And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. Luke 7:40And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 7:43-44Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Is Cleophas, Cleopas, Cephas all the same person?
Paul, writing to the Corinthians identifies who Cephas is: 1 Corinthians 1:12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 3:22Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, …; 9:5Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?15:5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: Galatians 2:9And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, …
Cephas is Simon Peter! Cleophas, Cleopas are probably just different spellings of the same name. (ie. Noah=Noe, Jeremiah=Jeremias, Jeremy Isaiah=Esaias). Two waking to Emmaus, is Cleopas (Peter) and the other is his wife (they invited him into their house for a meal). Then this explains Luke 24:34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. It appears Paul thinks so: 1 Corinthians 15:5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
