King Jesus for the Gentile

Image result for jesus on the cross

When the Jews (as a Nation) rejected Christ Jesus as their Messiah, coming King (see King Jesus for the Jews). God, the Lord Jesus called the Jewish scourge (Saul) of all Jews who were becoming Christians (Acts 11:26) persecuting them even to putting them into jail and death. SAUL, a Pharisee, a leader within the Jewish Religion.  After Saul’s conversion he tried to reach his fellow Jews with the gospel (1 Cor 15:1-4) but his ministry was limited and the religious leaders sought to kill him, so he turned to reaching out to the gentile world. (this was all God’s plan to open the plan of salvation to the Gentile world.)

Philippians 3:5-6 (Saul’s Jewish heritage) Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;  Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Acts 9:15 bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Acts 13:46-47  Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.  For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Paul, the apostle to the gentiles (Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office) only twice mentions the Lord Jesus Christ as KING. His message to Gentiles is that we are HEIRS, JOINT HEIRS with Christ.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirsheirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Yes, Christ Jesus will rule and reign here on earth from Jerusalem during the millennium. He will be King of the Jews and we, believers in His death, burial and resurrection (and ascension into heaven and soon coming again) will reign with Him as JOINT HEIRS.   AMEN!

King Jesus for the Jew

A review of the verses below (put them back into context for further reading) show that not only did the 12 disciples of Jesus believe he was the Messiah, the coming King, so did his detractors, the Pharisees and Sadducees, and most Jews at large; which is why they sought to crucify him. It would upset their religious power. Pilate wondered at the idea as did other Roman leaders.  During His three-year ministry He performed miracles to prove His deity and that He was the CHRIST, MESSIAH and their King promised to them in the Old Testament (see below) . And one day soon (after a seven year tribulation), He will return in power and take up His seat upon the Throne of David in Jerusalem to Rule.  (Read the words of Peter Acts 2:22-37)

King Jesus for the World

Yes, the Lord Jesus came into this world to present himself to the Nation of Israel to be their King and to rule over them from Jerusalem. They rejected and crucified Him (Acts 2:23). God then called Saul, who became Paul, to take the message of salvation to the Gentile world (Romans 11:11). This is was a mystery and will one day end (Romans 11:25) and the Lord Jesus, King of Kings will turn to set up His kingdom to rule and rein over the Jews and the entire world.

Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy that Jesus Christ was King and Lord.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

And John, the writer of Revelation, pens the following about the Lord Jesus Christ, the KING:

Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

Yes, Scoffers are among us even to this day as Peter warned (2 Peter 3:3-10). But next the Rapture, then the Tribulation, then the second coming and beginning of the 1000 years (millennium) reign on earth of the Lord Jesus, followed by the Great White Throne Judgement and then Eternity.

2 Peter 3:3-4  Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Rapture      – I Thessalonians 4:13-18, I Corinthians 15:51-57
Tribulation  – Matthew 24:21-29
2nd Coming  – Matthew 24:30, Acts 1:11, Revelation 1:7, Revelation 19:11-16
1000 years/Millennium Reign – Revelation 20:3-4
Great White Throne – Revelation 20:11-15
Eternity        – Revelation 21-22

King of Kings, Lord of Lords

Image result for king jesus

The titles KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS are used to describe the Lord Jesus during His one-thousand-year reign on earth from Jerusalem. We find this mentioned 3 times in the books of the new testament:
1 Timothy 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Definition of king of kings. : a monarch having other monarchs under him:
These titles are referred to in the Old Testament and need to be looked at.
Ezra 7:12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
Ezra was written sometime after 458 BC while Artaxerxes was king of Persia. He was considered the sixth King of Kings.
Ezekiel 26:7 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
Of course, Nebuchadrezzar would be called a king of kings. He was used by God to bring judgement upon Israel for their disobedience to His word.
Daniel 2:37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
Daniel refers to Nebuchadrezzar as a king of kings and reminds him where his power, and strength, and glory comes from – the God of heaven.

Lord is an appellation for a person or deity who has authority, control, or power over others acting like a master, a chief, or a ruler.
A King is in charge of a kingdom. A lord is not a royal. … And “lord” is an honorific that can be used by any male peer- duke, marquess, earl, viscount and baron.
Deuteronomy 10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

The Psalmist reminds us that God is the LORD OF LORDS.
Psalm 136:3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

And in conclusion, since the Lord Jesus is God, then when he sets up his kingdom on earth he will truly be KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS.
