What is the Will of God?

Romans 11:33-12:2

11:33 Statement of God’s Wisdom
11:35 You cannot out give God.  You love God, God loved you first/more
11:34 Question: How can we understand God?

Answer: 1 Corinthian 2:14-16  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

If we are to fulfill God’s will we must know God’s will.

Romans 12:2  …that ye may prove what is the good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Three hindrances that keep the believer from knowing God’s will.

1.  IGNORANCE of God’s written word.  2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
<No believer can know God’s will apart from God’s Word>

2. CARNALITY not being yielded to God. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
<Present and Yield: Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.>

3.  LACK OF GROWTH. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

These three are all interrelated and dependent.

We must have a knowledge of God’s will
We must be yielded to God
We must be growing in the grace of God

What does God want me to think?  To Do? To Go?

GOD’S WILL HAS BEEN REVEALED!

It is God’s will that:  Every member of the Human race to be saved.

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 6:40-47 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 11:25   Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
