The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, sometimes also referred to as Mount Olivet is an important landmark, located next to the Old City of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives refers to the ridge located east of the city and gets its name from the olive groves that at one time covered the land. A significant and meaningful landmark, the Mount of Olives dates back to biblical times and is important to both Jews and Christians.
Matthew 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
Mark 11:1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
