Peter warns of false prophets 2 Peter 2 uses Balaam as one example:
2 Peter 2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
Peter is referring to the Story in Numbers 22:21-34 where Balaam’s dumb ass was given a voice to speak. (vs 28) And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
The Lord Jesus instructed his disciples to fetch him a colt to ride on to fulfill the prophecy of his arrival into Jerusalem (Zechariah 9:9 …behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass).
Matthew 21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Matthew 21:7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
John also recorded the event (John 12:12-15)
John 12:14-15 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
After the a leader of Israel chastised the Lord for healing on the Sabbath he responded:
Luke 13:15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
And again answering the lawyers and Pharises:
Luke 14:5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
