Acts 13:6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:
So Saul (Paul) had first hand dealings with false prophets. and later in a letter to Corinth, he spoke of the perils he had among many false brethren:
2 Corinthians 11:26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, … in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
Paul continued to warn of false prophets, teachers as he wrote his epistles:
2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:1-5 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
