Mount Lebanon is mentioned in the Old Testament numerous times. King Hiram I of Tyre sent engineers with Cedar wood which was abundant in Mount Lebanon, to build the Jewish Temple of Jerusalem. Since then the Cedar species known scientifically as Cedrus libani is often associated with Mount Lebanon.
Aram stretched from the Mount Lebanon range eastward . Baal-Hermon is a biblical geographical locale of uncertain boundaries in northern Israel or southern Lebanon, perhaps on Mount Hermon. The area is mentioned in the Book of Judges as not being involved in the invasion of Canaan by the Israelites.

Not identified in Scripture but Mount Hermon is a strong candidate. Mount Tabor is another site of the transfiguration of Jesus.

It is one of the proposed mountains for the transfiguration. Mount Tabor is another mountain that has traditionally been considered the Mount of Transfiguration.
As a “high place,” it was long a center of idol worship, and its outstanding reference in the Bible is as the scene of Elijah’s confrontation with the false prophets of Baal.
