Doctrine Part 3

Paul Warned of the doctrine of men, false doctrines
Colossians 2:22 Which all … after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, also see 1 Timothy 1:3 4:1 6:3, 2 Timothy 4:3
Paul advocated strong doctrine (true doctrine), to Timothy and Titus:
1 Timothy 1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1 Timothy 4:6,13,16, 5:17, 6:1, 2 Timothy 3:10,16, 4:2 Titus 1:9, 2:1,7,10
To the Church in Corinthians Paul warned:
1 Corinthians 14:6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
And to the church in Rome:
Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Here are some of the doctrines that Paul taught:
The Trinity: God is ONE; Father, Son, Holy Spirit, each “Who” possessing all the attributes of Deity and personality.
The Person of Jesus Christ: Jesus is 100% God and 100% man for all eternity.
The Second Coming:
Jesus Christ is coming, first in the rapture, 7 years later, bodily to earth to rule and judge.
The Scripture:
It is entirely inerrant and sufficient for all Christian life
Salvation:
It is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Mysteries of God:
First revealed to PAUL to pass on to the Church

Doctrine Part 2

And after his resurrection the Apostles continued to teach this same doctrine
Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship,
Acts 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
Acts 13:12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Had the JEWS, as a nation, recognized Jesus as their MESSIAH and repented of their SIN, the Kingdom of Heaven would have been established and He Lord Jesus would have ruled from Jerusalem as KING. But they did not so...

Then Saul met the Risen Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus
(ACTS 9:1-9, 22:6-11, 26:12-18) and was given a NEW Doctrine
Acts 17:19 And they took him, …, saying, May we know what this new doctrine?
Paul wrote in Hebrews (to Jews)
Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Yes, the Apostle Paul was given a New Doctrine for the Church of Believers.

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Isaiah 14:12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Man is Everlasting    Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Ephesians 4:24  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
John 3:15,16,18,38 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: …36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: …
Unbelievers are Everlasting John 3:18,38   …: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 36 …: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Revelation 20:11-15  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Eternal, Everlasting Part 3

Kingdom of Heaven is Everlasting Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  (it’s only taught by the Lord Jesus in the book of Matthew).

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Lake of Fire is Everlasting  Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Yes, ETERNAL LIFE is promised all thru scripture to all those that BELIEVE. And it will be for all eternity in a place we can’t even begin to see, hope for, or even know.
1 Corinthians 2:9   But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
And this is not a promise just to church age saints but to all believers:
Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
God’s covenant(s) with mankind, and Israel are EVERLASTING. The land given to Abraham (and his descendants were for an everlasting possession. The priesthood (Exodus 40:14) is referred to as everlasting.

1 Corinthians 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

Ephesians 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
Ephesians 6:9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him

Philippians 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Colossians 4:1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Hebrews 12:25-26 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

But for all he wrote, he also Quoted the Old Testament:
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

Doctrines of Devils

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Doctrines of Devils:
Speaking lies
Conscience seared
Forbidding to marry
Abstain from meats

These “doctrines” will cause some to “depart from the faith.”

We desperately need to know the biblical doctrine concerning devils (or Satan and his demonic henchmen), for their influence has nearly captured American education and culture.

Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

The Gospel is in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus according to the scripture). And when this is believed, obey Romans 10:9 “confess that the Lord Jesus is God”.

Doctrines of Paul

Paul, The Apostle to Gentiles, was a Law keeping Pharisee before his meet with the Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-9). He knew Jewish Law and Doctrine. As he grew in the Lord he was given new teachings, additional doctrines on which to form the church. We find these doctrines revealed in the thirteen Epistles he wrote to the churches he started throughout Asia.

Eternal, Everlasting

Image result for eternal everlasting

These words are used interchangeable throughout the Scripture, but would suggest that there is a difference. There are many scriptures containing the words but here is the thought:
Eternal is always was / is / will Be  lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.

God is Eternal     Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God …. Deuteronomy 33:27  The eternal God is thy refuge, …   (Genesis 21:33 refers to the LORD and the everlasting God.) Psalm 41:13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. (i.e. eternal) Amen, and Amen.
And many other scripture can be noted using the word everlasting.
Lord Jesus is Eternal  John 1:1-3,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made……. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Ephesians 3:11  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Holy Spirit is Eternal  Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, …
Heaven (God’s Abode) is Eternal    2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Kingdom of God is Eternal and Spiritual  John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God
Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Everlasting has a beginning but no end … lasting forever or for a very long time.

Baptize-Baptism

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Baptism:
1a: a Christian sacrament marked by ritual use of water and admitting the recipient to the Christian community. b: a non-Christian rite using water for ritual purification
2: an act, experience, or ordeal by which one is purified, sanctified, initiated, or named

According to Paul

1 Corinthians 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

1 Corinthians 1:14-17 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Romans 6:3-4 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

1 Corinthians 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
