Psalm 3

David, deserted by his subjects, derided by Shimei, pursued for his crown and life by his ungracious son, Absalom, turns to his God, makes his supplications, and confesses his faith.

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Matthew 27:40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Matthew 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Mark 15:30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

We are reminded God is always on His Throne:
Revelation 7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Psalm 4

David speaking to all sinners while addressing himself to Absalom.  His message in is that the victories of sinners are only temporary and meaningless.
Remember only belief in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4) can bring true happiness.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

Amos 5:22-23 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.

Psalm 5

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Romans 12:12
A Prayer for Guidance
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. ROMANS 3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

The Apostle Paul gives instructions to Believers on Prayer:
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Romans 12:12
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
1 Corinthians 7:5
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2
Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17

God’s Blueprint

The Bible lays out God’s Blueprint: Purpose, Program, People, Plan, Progress

Purpose: God’s eternal purpose is to redeem (Buy Back) the planet earth, which was under control of Satan.

Program:   God created all the things on earth in His program to redeem the earth.

People:      God started with all people (Adam thru Noah).

When man went his own way God flooded the earth and restarted with just one family (Noah and his family).

Then when mankind again turned to his evil ways, God chose to work with one people starting with Abram (Abraham) (Israel).

When Israel rejected their Messiah, God opened the door to the Gentile.

BLUEPRINT:          God’s blueprint proved that without Him mankind would always choose evil and fall.

Progress: God’s plan isprogressingright on target.

Are you part of God’s Blueprint? 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-13

1 The Church

The church was started after the Lord’s ascension into Heaven and will continue until He removes it. Revelation 2-3 gives a glimpse at the church.

There are three views of these passages.
One view, this is a picture of the church down thru the ages.
Another view is these are a view of all churches today.
Another view points out that these 7 were Jewish Assemblies in seven different cities that John was to write letters to. Where are they today?
The Church of Ephesus no longer exists (neither does the city).
The Church of Smyrna is located within modern-day Izmir.
The Church of Pergamum is also in ruins.
The Church of Thyatira may be found in modern Akhisar’s Ulu Cami (Great Mosque).
The Church of Sardis no longer exists.
The Church of Philadelphia remained a strong center of Orthodox Christianity until the early 20th century, and remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Church of Laodicea is now situated near the modern city of Denizli, Turkey.
Whichever view is taken, the true church is to be removed from earth very soon.
Revelation 4:1 records John being called up into Heaven [A picture of the church being called up (1 Thessalonians 4:16 “… with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God …”)] and shown things to come.

2 The Calling

The next event … The call from heaven, “a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:”

The Lord Jesus made this a promise John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The Apostle Paul wrote about it in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Wherefore comfort one another with these words”.

It is called a MYSTERY and it is explained in 1 Corinthians 15:51-57.
A new body of FLESH and BONE, just like the one the Lord Jesus had when He came out of the tomb.

And believers refer to it as the RAPTURE.

3 The Judgment

The one of first things John saw in Heaven was The Judgment Seat of Christ. Revelation 4-5

All believers will be judged. Romans 14:10 … for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”.
Everything will be judged by the Lord, good and bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10… according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad”.

The way of the Judgment and the results are found in 1 Corinthians 3:9-15
The foundation is the Lord Jesus.
The building is built by the Believer –
gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble”
Tested by fire (foundation is secure)
Remains determine the reward.
Nothing left – no rewards BUT still has salvation.

4 The Marriage

In Heaven there is a gala event for believers following the Judgment …
… The Marriage supper of the Lamb. Revelation 19:6-9

The Marriage supper of the Lamb

Revelation 16:7 “… for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” Many believe ‘his wife’ is the Church. (true Believers)

A comparison is found in a parable the Lord Jesus taught. Matthew 22:1-14

The supper has been likened to an awards banquet where the rewards from The Judgment Seat of Christ are awarded.

Meanwhile, back on Earth …

5 The Tribulation

Meanwhile a period of 7 years begins on earth … but first … why a pre-tribulation rapture?
Jeremiah 30:7 “… it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble …”
This is speaking to Israel – it’s NOT for the Church.
The Church is in Heaven (The Judgement – The Marriage) during this 7-year period. How can the church return with Christ? (The Return)
Romans 5:9 “… being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him”.
The Tribulation is a judgment against the Jew, but the whole earth will be affected. It is broken down into two 3 ½ year periods. It will consist of a one world government, one world leader, probably one world money and perhaps only two religions; Judaism and a one world church.
Daniel 9:27 is an overview of the 7 years. (week = 7 years)
Daniel 11:36-45 a description of Anti-Christ and his reign and during this period;
The Anti-Christ is made known –
The Temple is rebuilt –
Animal sacrifice for atonement is resumed.
At the end of 3 ½ years the Anti-Christ defiles the Temple, entering into the Holy of Holies, proclaiming himself as God.
Daniel 12:11-12 This alerts the Jew that this is not the Messiah they are looking for and the great persecution begins.

All equal 3 ½ years and a week = 7 years
