Reviving: give new strength or energy. Ezra 9:8And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. Ezra 9:9For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

Old Testament Promise The first promise of a redeemer for man’s sin is found inGenesis 3:15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Isaiah gives more details on how the redeemer will come; Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. And who he will be; Isaiah 9:6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Sin came by man, Adam disobeyed God: Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. (Read account in Genesis 3:1-8) The Apostle Paul reminds that it was Adam who sinned not Eve: 1 Tim 2:13-14For Adam was first formed, then Eve. The Apostle Peter also reminds of the Lord’s Sinless life and death of the Lord 1 Peter 2:21-25 The Apostle Paul writes “ … who knew no sin …” 2 Corinthians 5:21he also reminds that Christ not only lived but 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “… how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” And after 40 days Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. He ascended into Heaven.
