Who are You?

A Unique Creation of God

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) – Unique (except to Twins) It belongs to just you!
Twins come from the same fertilized egg and share the same genetic blueprint.
DNA is like a genetic fingerprint: no one on earth has exactly the same DNA. Even the DNA of identical twins is not completely identical Although each organism’s DNA is unique, all DNA is composed of the same nitrogen-based molecules. Genomes contain all the vital genetic solutions discovered by our ancestors in response to all the environmental challenges that they had successfully overcome since creation. To a standard DNA test, twins are indistinguishable. But any forensics expert will tell you that there is at least one surefire way to tell them apart: identical twins do not have matching fingerprints.

Finger Prints – Unique! They belong to just you!
Each person’s fingerprints are unique, which is why they have long been used as a way to identify individuals. Surprisingly little is known about the factors that influence a person’s fingerprint patterns. Like many other complex traits, studies suggest that both genetic and environmental factors play a role. Your fingerprints also stay the same from the time you’re born until death. Their uniqueness and lasting quality make fingerprints one of the best ways to identify a person. Prints from palms, toes and feet are also unique; however, these are used less often for identification, so identification focuses on prints from the fingers and thumbs.

Another thing that makes a person unique is our Body, Soul and Spirit.
Spirit – every human is born with a Body, Soul and Spirit. The Body we can see. The Soul is the life of that Body. The Spirit is DEAD (not in communication with God). It’s only when one is saved, born again, does the Spirit come alive (in communication with God) Ephesians 2:1.

Yes, God created YOU a unique person. The purpose is so you can dwell with Him for all eternity! 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Acts 15

The council at Jerusalem
51 AD Galatians 2

1 Certain me from Judaea came saying “ Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved”.
2-3 Paul and Barnabas disagree and are sent to Jerusalem. Passing through Phenice and Samaria sharing the conversion of Gentiles.
4-5 At Jerusalem they declare all the God has done upsetting a sect of Pharisees.
6 A council meeting with apostles and elders (all Jews) to consider the matter
7-11 Peter defends his trip
12 Barnabas and Paul report on their work with Gentiles
13-19 James answers and quotes Amos 9:10-11
20-26 Gives requirements for Gentiles and has letters written for Barnabas and Paul to carry.
27-29 Judas ad Silas also sent. Repeats Gentile requirements.
30-34 On to Antioch
35-36 Barnabas and Paul continue teaching and then determine to visit every city again.
37-39 Contention and a split, Barn and Mark sail to Cyprus

Acts 14

45 AD
1st Journey
1 While in Iconium first to the synagogue of the Jews.
Speaks to multitude of Jews and Greeks (Gentiles).
2-5 Stayed there a long time granting signs and wonders.
Jews rulers tried to use them despitefully and stone them.
6-7 They flee to Lystra and Derbe, continuing to preach the gospel
8-10 Healing of a lame man
11-18 The people tried to make Paul and Barnabus gods.
19 Paul stoned to death (2 Corinthians 12:1-6) and dragged from city.
20-21 Returns to city
22-23 Sets up elders in all the churches and leaves
24-28 Passes through Pisidia on to Pamphylia, preaching in Perga and on to Attalia.
Sailed tom Antioch. Sharing all God had done through them, opening the door to the Gentiles, they abode there a long time.

ACTS 4

FAITHFUL UNDER FIRE
29 AD
How many have heard…”Our Church should be like the first Church”?
Obliviously those making this statement are not really studying the Word! This chapter gives a peek into the first Jewish assembly that believed Jesus was Messiah.

1-4 Peter and others are preaching the Gospel to Jews and here comes Jewish authorities to arrest them. But many believed Jesus was Messiah, about 5,000.
5-12 The Hearing … just as bias and illegal as the trial of Jesus.
13-22 Asked “By what power or by what name have ye done this”?
Peter responds with Scripture Isaiah 28:16
Only by the Name of Jesus can they be saved
Jewish leaders are dumbfounded. Don’t know how to respond.
What do they do?
Commands they to keep quiet, no more of this Jesus nonsense.
Peter’s response “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard”.
Set free. False charges dropped.
23-28 They returned to the assembly praising God.
Quoting Scripture Psalm 2:1-2.
29-30 They petitioned God for more.
31-33 They Prayed.
All assembled received the power to speak the word boldly.
34-37 They joined together.
Sharing all earthly possessions to further the Gospel.

Faith Failures

Faith is believing God and trusting His word.

Hebrews 11 is the hall of FAITH. It also lists some who Failed in Faith.

Cain (Hebrews 11:4) did not believe God. Tried his way and finally killed his own brother in a jealous act. Genesis 4:3-8.

And then there’s Easu, Jacobs older twin Brother, who did not value his relationship with God or family. Genesis 25:25-34, Hebrews 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

All of Israel who failed to believe God and cross over into the promise land.
That lead to 40 years in the wilderness. Hebrews 3:8-11, Numbers 14

As Paul writes about the Faithful (Hebrews 11:32) And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

So too could this page be filled with Failures, those who did not believe or trust God and His word.

What about you. Do you believe the Gospel? (I Corinthians 15:1-4) The Death, Burial and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you acted on His word as stated in Romans 10:9-13? Do truly believe you are saved? Going to Heaven when you die, or at the rapture?

God has something better for us, those who Believe and Trust Him.

Hope Part 2

Hope is found 53 times in the New Testament:

Luke (1), Acts (8), Romans (10), 1 Corinthians (3), 2 Corinthians (3), Galatians (1), Ephesians (3), Philippians (2), Colossians (3), 1 Thessalonians (4), 2 Thessalonians (1), 1 Timothy (1), Titus (3), Hebrews (5), 1 Peter (4), 1 John (1)

And perhaps the best HOPE for believers is found in Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Paul was looking for that BLESSED HOPE in his life time. The Rapture. He wrote about it in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18;  and in 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 he tells about the new body we will have. One like the risen Lord Jesus Christ, Flesh and Bone, no blood.

In deed the best hope for all believers, the coming of the Lord Jesus for all his saints.

THAT BLESSED HOPE.
