Christ Is All

Without Christ ….. Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
In Christ ….. 1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:
For Christ .…. Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Through Christ ….. Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Know Christ ….. Phillipians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
With Christ ….. Phillipians 1:21-23 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
Like Christ ….. Phillipians 3:20-21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Christ is All I need

A popular children’s song:
Christ is all I need,
Christ is all I need,
All, all I need,
Christ is all I need,
Christ is all I need,
All, all I need.

He was crucified,
For me He died, on Calvary.
That He loved me so,
This is why I know,
Christ is all I need.

Wrath NT

Many sermons have been/are preached on God’s Love and Love is definitely an attribute of God. As the apostle John writes:
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
And the Lord Jesus said:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God created Man to Love him. BUT man has not always loved or obeyed God.

During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus warned the Jews about the
WRATH TO COME.
Matthew 3:7, Luke 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Luke 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
The Lord Jesus was warning his people that a time was coming when God would punish them, and the whole world for their disobedience and lack of love for God.

Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans of the coming wrath of God:
Romans 1:18, 2:5,8, 4:15, 5:9, 9:22,
He reminds that this wrath was predicted long ago.
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Romans 13:4-5 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Colossians 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Lord Jesus Christ Part 4

In the book of HEBREWS 14 times Paul refers to the Lord Jesus.
Christ Jesus, Jesus the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus,
8 times Paul calls him Jesus. Paul is writing to Jews who had believed that Jesus was the Messiah. Remember they had seen the man, Jesus. Paul was showing them this same Jesus was in fact God in Flesh.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Hebrews 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Hebrews 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Hebrews 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

In conclusion… How should we, today, refer to his name? Look what the Apostle writes:
2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
And as we have seen in Paul’s writings, he only refers to Jesus the man in Hebrews.

We don’t know the man, Jesus, we only know the God Jesus.
We should address him as:
Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus

220 times as Deity, 20 as just Jesus, 1 as another

Planets

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
The only Scripture reference to Planets:
2 Kings 23:5 And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.
The Romans bestowed the names of gods and goddesses on the five planets that could be seen in the night sky with the naked eye.
1 Mercury, is named after the fast-moving messenger of the gods.
2 Venus, is named for their goddess of love and beauty
3 **
4 Mars after their god of war.
5 Jupiter was named for the king of the Roman gods
6 Saturn, is named for the god of agriculture.
7 Uranus, was discovered after the telescope was invented in the early 1600s. The name is Latinized version of the Greek god of the sky,
8 Neptune, was first seen by telescope in 1846, got its name from the Roman god of the sea.
** Earth was named by God. Genesis 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
The only Scripture references to Planets:
Mercury (Mercurius) Acts 14:12
Mars  Acts 17:22 (16-34)

The SKY is mentioned 7 times in the Scripture: Once in Deuteronomy, Job, Hebrews, twice in Matthew and twice in Luke:
Deuteronomy 33:26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
Job 37:18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Hebrews 11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Matthew 16:2-3 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering.
Luke 12:56O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

Halo

Ask anyone; What does an Angel have above his head? A HALO!
That’s the answer you will get.
But where does that come from?
Traditionally, the halo represents a radiant light around or above the head of a divine or sacred person. The Halo is seen in many paintings of Biblical figures. Since halos are found nowhere in the Bible, what is their origin in Christianity?
Three places in Scripture maybe it looked like a Halo:,
Daniels vision
Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
Transfiguration of the Lord Jesus.
Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
John’s vision of the Lord.
Revelation 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

With it not being found in the Bible, the halo is both pagan and non-Christian in its origin. Many centuries before Christ, natives decorated their heads with a crown of feathers to represent their relationship with the sun god.

Written In Stone

According to the biblical narrative the first set of tablets, inscribed by the finger of God, (Exodus 31:18) were smashed by Moses when he was enraged by the sight of the Children of Israel worshipping a golden calf (Exodus 32:19) and the second were later chiseled out by Moses and rewritten by God (Exodus 34:1). Exodus 34:28 says the second set were written by Moses.
According to traditional teachings of Judaism in the Talmud, they were made of blue sapphire stone as a symbolic reminder of the sky, the heavens, and ultimately of God’s throne. Many Torah scholars, however, have opined that the biblical sapir was, in fact, lapis lazuli (see Exodus 24:10), lapis lazuli is a possible alternate rendering of “sapphire” the stone pavement under God’s feet when the intention to craft the tablets of the covenant is disclosed (Exodus 24:12).
According to Exodus 25:10-22 the tablets were stored in the Ark of the Covenant.
Exodus 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Exodus 32:19 And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
Exodus 34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
Exodus 34:28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
Exodus 24:10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
Exodus 25:10,21-22 And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
Why were the 10 commandments carved in stone?

In recent centuries the tablets have been popularly described and depicted as round-topped rectangles but this has little basis in religious tradition. According to rabbinic tradition, they were rectangles, with sharp corners, and indeed they are so depicted in the 3rd century paintings at the Dura-Europos Synagogue and in Christian art throughout the 1st millennium, drawing on Jewish traditions of iconography. According to the Talmud, the length and width of each of the Tablets was six Tefachim, and each was three Tefachim thick – roughly 50 and 25 centimetres (20 and 10 in) respectively, though they tend to be shown larger in art. Also according to tradition, the words were not engraved on the surface, but rather were bored fully through the stone.

I AM God

A person either believes the Bible is the word of God or they don’t. If you don’t at least consider the following.
God is speaking to Abram an tells him:
Genesis 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Then 9 times God reminds the world who HE is:
Genesis 35:11 And God said unto him, I am GodAlmighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
Genesis 46:3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
Isaiah 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.
Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Ezekiel 28:9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
Hosea 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
And then HE reminds the nation Israel, “I am the Lord161 times.
