Mount Abarim


A mountain range across Jordan, to the east and south-east of the Dead Sea. Hebrew meaning is “‘Those-on-the-other-side’ of the Jordan.” Its northern part was called Pisgah and the highest peak of Pisgah was Mount Nebo.

Numbers 27:12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
Numbers 33:47-8 And they removed from Almondiblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

Deuteronomy 32:49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
