The Bible, the inspired Word of God, was written by about 40 men over a 2,000 year period in three languages and consists of 66 books divided into two parts: 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. These books are traditionally grouped by type: The Law (or The Pentateuch), Old Testament Narrative, Wisdom Literature, Major Prophets, Minor Prophets, New Testament Narrative and Epistles (Pauline, General, Apocalyptic).
